I appreciate you basing your argument in statistics, but if you have them to hand, could you link to them?

Gander5739··on PipePipe: NewPipe hard fork implementing SponsorBlock
It's not that well known, but mpv supports playing youtube videos. I think you need yt-dlp installed.

What features does the wireguard app have that alternatives like WG Tunnel or KabelWacht lack?
Gander5739··on F-Droid 2.0
I've found Droid-ify more reliable at doing background updates, though it still only manages it sometimes (possibly due in some way to how I installed the apps). Hopefully Fdroid's app will be better at this.

Gander5739··on Apple has added persistent 'ads' to iOS, and it's driving users crazy
I don't think it's entirely the same situtation with ads on a blog you read for free vs ads on a device you pay a lot of money for.

Even very basic games can be fun (e.g. tetris). Though maybe the funness of a game is more an art than a science.

Gander5739··on OEMpocalypse: Unprivileged Android app to root on Samsung, Xiaomi, others
Isn't the article about obtaining root from an unprivileged app? The recent GhostLock exploit is potentially usable for this purpose, for instance.
Gander5739··on OEMpocalypse: Unprivileged Android app to root on Samsung, Xiaomi, others
What's stopping you from rooting it and then sshing in? You can then run the adb commands using root access.

Gander5739··on Linux Zoom client proactively reading everything written to X11 clipboard
Android allows apps to read from the clipboard at will, though it does show a toast. GrapheneOS, I believe, asks for permission first.

Wall, you can't tell if they're ignoring it, but it's fairly easy to show they're manipulating it. So a cut-and-dry demonstration is worse than a strong suspicion.

I don't think that follows. You can doomscroll at any screen size, small or big. If they don't fit in your pockets, it's probably harder to doomscroll on the phone, not easier.

The Economist has anonymous writers for almost every article.

Gander5739··on The moral panic over data centres is foolish

That is the style of articles (interpretive analysis) that The Economist does.
