Freedom2··on DoorDash Spent $1.4M Trying to Stop Mamdani from Becoming Mayor. Now We Know Why
Perhaps we should give credit to Adams' parents for having a child, else the investigation would have never kicked off.
Freedom2··on AI Has No Wisdom and Neither Will You
I think one other point is that demand for American goods has never been higher. I've had Europeans come to me with tears in their eyes saying 'sir, sir, we want more Fords'. There has never been a better car brand than an American one, that's for sure.
Freedom2··on Xiaomi MiMo v2.6
Agreed, and also because I support freedom of speech!
Freedom2··on US troop deaths during Iran war exceed Pentagon count by at least four
What logistics concerns are there? Isn't the US supposed to be one of the best at managing wartime logistics, which is why they have bases all around the world?
Freedom2··on A coffee shop owner used AI to make a menu poster. Then came the angry DMs
Agreed. That's actually what OP said as well.
Freedom2··on The Beauty of Roundabouts
I live in the US and roundabouts simply don't work.
Freedom2··on Proposed Rule: Eliminating the Discretionary 60-Day Grace Period
Layoffs often have nothing to do with specific individuals, so your last assertion is false.
Freedom2··on Fuck it, make it anyway
I don't understand this comment. I also slogged through blogs, docs, forums and websites and throughout it all I found it enriching and enjoyable, despite some frustrations along the way. Even if the end result is much faster to get to, I can sit back and think to myself that I learnt a lot and had enjoyable interactions.

Some may think their pursuit of mastery is now wasted, but I find that intriguing especially in a field where mastery cannot really be obtained due to technological progress. I suppose I just don't let others reduce my own experience and what I value?

Freedom2··on Fuck it, make it anyway
I remember running into a lot of those kind of folk here on HN, and unsurprisingly, a large portion of them are the biggest LLM detractors.
Freedom2··on Will there be a 7G?
I'm concerned because my 5G microchip is still going strong. Will the next advances be compatible?
Freedom2··on OpenAI agents carried out an undisclosed attack on RubyGems
If someone made an API to build a data center? Or made an API to keep their lights on? What then?
Freedom2··on Trump promises $5k payout to U.S. adults if Republicans win election
Libertarians should try at a small scale first so that others can see the genius of their ideas, and be more encouraged to vote for them. I hear New Hampshire has towns open to this idea.
Freedom2··on DeepSeek v4.1 Flash
If it were a YC company I'd understand, but for anything foreign, I'm always suspicious.
Freedom2··on iPhone Duo
Like many other HNers, I don't quite understand the appeal of not having their own computer, or even a VPS setup they can remote info for more structured work. But then I remember the famous Dropbox comment where one user had qualms, and perhaps looking outside our bubble can be worth it.
Freedom2··on Whistleblower warns Postal Service mail ballot system has catastrophic problems
Is there a source for how discussions work?
Freedom2··on Inception-style curved map for turn-by-turn directions
I remember working on something like this as early as 1999! It was for a small European company, sadly we weren't able to put it out due to licensing restrictions at the time.
Freedom2··on Gemini-3.5-Transcribe
I'd love to know how this handles proper subtitle formatting. I'm in the process of learning many languages, and being able to cross check my own understanding with film and video would be fantastic.
Freedom2··on Flock CEO gets his house blurred out on Google Maps and Zillow
As someone who may or may not have a Flock (YC 2017) watching me as I type this, I'm glad that it exists. I can now feel "Flock Safe and Secure™", knowing that the compromise I've made has been worth it.
Freedom2··on Nebula Sans
Perhaps I'm your typical HNer like the GP comment and the topmost comment, but I don't see an issue with changing the style of the font entirely. Sure, it may be jarring to customers, but it's a short term pain for almost zero cost.
Freedom2··on CEO fired developers to make room for AI. Developers create open source AI CEO
Like RTO mandates which were definitely made with wisdom.
Freedom2··on GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked?
I don't think this is an apt analogy. The bread makeup is still there, as far as I'm aware, no users have lost any data or are missing "key" ingredients.

An outage is more like a shipping issue with the supplier, if it's owned wholly by them.

Freedom2··on GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked?
Agreed. In fact, keep firing ops until someone gets it done. There's no way your company will build a reputation for not supporting their teams.
Freedom2··on U.S. State Department pauses immigrant visa applications
We don't even have to imagine. Many in this very comment section support this.
Freedom2··on Anthropic tells staff to work from home due to possible security team strike
Make no mistakes.
Freedom2··on You can just build any software now
We could always just build any software? I'm not sure what the author here is trying to claim as new.
Freedom2··on Nearly 3M Teslas recalled in China over hidden door handles
There's commenters here who genuinely believe the hidden door handles have a non-negligible effect on the aerodynamics of these cars.
Freedom2··on 'The Nerd Reich' tracks the 'unmasking of Silicon Valley's true politics'
I believe the go-to response from leadership here is that there's other places to discuss political news, and that if it doesn't encourage curious, thoughtful discussion, it shouldn't exist here. So they probably won't address the flagging system as they truly believe it's working as expected.
Freedom2··on Canada will match US tariffs 'dollar for dollar' as trade talks break down
Perhaps their founder contacts are in the ragebait and clickbait manufacturing business.
Freedom2··on Grand jury declines to indict Ohio man charged with destroying Flock camera
Is there any evidence that they haven't heard of it, or is this an assumption from your part?
Freedom2··on US debt tops $40T as Treasury doubles bond buybacks to calm markets
Some people on this site genuinely believe we're still in a Biden economy and when things start to look positive that's when the Trump economy starts, so you're probably right.
