I agree we will see how this plays out but I hope models might start to become more efficient and it might not matter that much for certain things to run some parts locally.
I could imagine a LLM model with a lot less languages and optimized for one programming language to happen. Like 'generaten your model'
And I have worked in plenty of companies I'm the open source guy in these companies and me or my teams never had the capacity to do so
GenAI just works. People don't need to be pushed using it and continue using it.
OpenAI has 500 Million active users weekly.
Open source of course.
So what's my response to that deprecating? Maintaining it myself? Nope finding another library.
You always depend on something...
200-300$/month are already 7k in 3 years.
And I do expect some hardware chip based models in a few years like a GPU.
AiPU we're you can replace the hardware ai chip.
3D models can be generated quite well already. Good enough for a sculpture.
What I hate is that I will not pay more than 20-50$ per month for side projects and that gap annoys me.
For me a compressed model learning rules through statistics is not statistics anymore.
Physic rules are not statistics.
I don't think I could Mimik a LLM. But I'm prompting fast so that helps
Like knowing multiple languages/ multiple words for one thing.
As soon as compression happens, optimization happens which can lead to rules/learning of principles which got feed by statistics.
The personal assistant agent too.
They might overlap for me but not for everyone.
Nothing will crash. The big rich companies like Google, Microsoft already need it as part of their product strategy.
But about ai companies, I don't think their faith matters at all to end consumer and I'm pretty sure companies like character.ai do not run red numbers.
But do I really have to say colloquial?
We have long term memory and short term.
Context is short term.
The still long and expensive training phase embeds the long term memory.
It's not just chat. But I really enjoy the Claude or chatgpt chat UI.
I'm not sure what your problem with that UI is tbh?
I don't think there will be any crash soon. I'm hoping for lower prices but I can't imagine not having these tools available anymore.
I'm also waiting for better and cheaper support for local development and inferencing.
I'm waiting left and right for a lot of smaller things. Like cheaper Claude, Hardware LLM chips, secure integration of my bank account and other personal data. More capacity for the beta projects of coding agents.
Millions of people use LLMs daily.
Veo 3 just came out.
People get fired due to LLMs and GenAI replacing them.
Google uses ai code for years in the background.
Playing around with cursor for a few days is way to naive to be able to determine the current situation with coding and ai
We already achieved complete destruction potential.
Drones don't change much. It's potentially better for us civilians if drones get used to attack a lot more targeted (think Putin).
This should lead to narrow policies which might be less aggressive
Nonetheless it took openai til Nov 2022 for 1 Million users.
The overall awareness and breakthrough was probably not at 2020.
The explosion of funding, awareness etc only happened after gpt-3 launch
If that's your only idea... How about an orientation and self-care program instead?
Sometimes behind patreon if some YouTuber
But hey it seems I can't convince you of my enthusiasm regarding ai. It's fine I still will play around with it often and looking forward to it's progress.
Regarding your researcher: NotebookLM is great and you might need to invest a few hundred bucks to really try out more.
We will see anyway we're it's going
Helps me to plan it well and the LLM to work a lot better
Btw to add content: exchang between block chains is not a solved problem. Adding more doesn't help
It now just happens on a way bigger level because now it's actually worth while to do.
That's one of the core beauties of the AI Ara
And we live now in such a fast pace that it feels like Ai should be perfect already and it's of course not.
I also see that an expert can leverage Ai a lot better because you still need to know enough to make good things without.
But Ai progresses very fast and still has achieved things were we have not had any answer than before.
What it can already do is still very aligned of what I assume/expect it from the current hype.
Llama made our ocr 20% better just by using it. I prompted plenty of code snippets and stuff which saved me time and was fun using it. Including python scripts for a small ml pipeline and I normally don't write python.
It's the first tech demo ever which people around me just 'got' after I showed it to them.
It's the first chatbot I have seen which doesn't flake out after my second question.
Chatgpt pushed billions into new computer. Blackwell is the first chip to hit the lower estimation for brain compute performance.
It changed the research field of computer linguistics.
I believe it's fundamental to keep a very close eye on it and trying things out regular otherwise it will over roll us suddenly.
I really enjoy using Claude.
Edit: and eli5 on research paper. That's so so good
The product seems easy to copy, 1000 is not much and even reading the article i didn't find the product online.
Could mean a pipedream of people who don't know enough and were also willing to not pay into retirement which leads me to the below 0 profit.
4 years of not building your career in a good company for chasing a dream.
The cheapest product btw seems to be 15$ not even having enough for making 2k of units is rough (estimate 7$ for production)
One argument doesn't make the other in any way worse or better
I'm a German, I was not aware that VW was doing this until it came out and it was a huge blow out.
Do you think people just test their cars fume output?! You do understand that the software was build to detect being on a test stand right?
Who reverse engineers software like this...
