Fethbita··on Fujifilm X100VI Camera Review: 40MP APS-C sensor with 35mm F2 lens
You are mistaking the sensor size 35mm with lens focal length 35mm. The lens itself is 23mm. The camera has APS-C sensor. The full frame (35mm sensor size) equivalent of the lens+sensor combination is 35mm.
Fethbita··on Applied Cryptography by University of Tartu
This is Applied Cryptography course from University of Tartu. It is one of the highest quality courses I have taken that have helped me directly in my professional life. The course discusses many topics, from PKI to Bitcoin and is somewhat focused on Estonian use-case of digital identity. However there are other topics such as TLS that are more general.

And Part 2 (https://blog.burakcankus.com/2024/04/18/how-do-electronic-pa...) that discusses a WIP reader implementation in Rust.
Fethbita··on Apple unveils M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max
I have found some deals on M1 Max Macbook Pros with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 64GB RAM and 2TB storage. Does it make sense to go with those or with base M3 Pro with 11-core CPU, 14-core GPU, 18GB RAM 512GB storage which is the same price?
Fethbita··on How to draw software architecture diagrams (2022)
You can deploy a plantuml server internally (so that the rendering is done internally). Just running planuml.jar does not send anything to their servers either, it renders diagrams locally.
Fethbita··on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
Which lens/lenses do you use with your XT-4? I am in the same situation, I have an iPhone but while the photos it makes in certain situations are better I would prefer the XT-4 in other situations, if I have the camera with me that is.
Fethbita··on Ask HN: Could you share your personal blog here?
My blog is https://blog.burakcankus.com. There is not a lot written yet but I have small posts planned for it.
Fethbita··on It Took Me a Decade to Find the Perfect Personal Website Stack – Ghost+Fathom
Hey, I do the same but using Jekyll instead of Hugo, using S3 and CloudFront, I have only been charged 0.00 so far but why do you say that the pricing would get out of hand? Isn’t CloudFront there to cache the results so that the pricing would not get out of hand?

This is my blog post about how I set up my blog: https://blog.burakcankus.com/2023/04/23/getting-a-blog-runni...

Fethbita··on How and why we acquired our .com domain
I committed to contact@firstnamelastname.com which looks the most professional to me.
Fethbita··on Against risk-based authentication (or, why I wouldn't trust Google Cloud)
For those who are worried about their accounts, I would recommend setting up Google Advanced Protection Program [1]. It will ask you for a physical security key and I didn’t come across any other checks while logging in (i.e. random checks the post is talking about).

Fethbita··on Ask HN: What's your proudest hack?
That’s great, I had the same problem but didn’t hack it like you did unfortunately. I overwrote the first 30 GB of my 6 TB HDD and am trying out GetDataBack Pro to get my files back, no luck so far. I had some tens of thousands of photos that I can’t replace.
Fethbita··on I Tricked Myself into Liking Running
I would love to do this but I am scared of glass shards or sharp objects. Have you ever encountered that, what's your solution?
Fethbita··on Backdoored password manager stole data from as many as 29K enterprises
I don't think just appending a character to your password is such a good idea if it is compromised.
Fethbita··on Icecream: Never use print() to debug again in Python
Today I was trying to solve the exact scenario in the second example. A multi threaded program had a race condition that would sometimes occur. printing numbers helped a great deal. Might also be that I'm not that proficient with my debugger even though I use that more than anything.
Fethbita··on Amazon Echo Flex: Microphone mute button appears to be real and functional
As far as I can see from the blog, it's a technical blog. I would expect its regular users to read to the end and it kind of makes sense to put the conclusion at the bottom.
