FedorinoGore··on Scientists discover links between Alzheimer's disease and gut microbiota
I've been on a journey of hyper-optimisation of my nutrition for various goals (sport performance, health, intellectual performance, etc). Mediterranean diet seem to be the GOAT in most cases
FedorinoGore··on Meta is banning people from advertising after running ads for Python and Pandas
This is a hilarious and kinda obvious mistake to allow in your system (if you work with data for couple of month at least it is). But it is also very surprising, that this process is not being turned into a stream of profit and good pr. Like, allow paid human supervision....
FedorinoGore··on Ask HN: Has anyone gotten complete, permanent relief from tinnitus?
Close family member experience: https://bmcpsychiatry.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12...

It helped surprisingly soon. My family member had Tinnitus for 6 month, super high pitch, appeared as burnout reaction.

We were told by the doctor that this treatment might take several rounds and has a high chance of not working at all if physical damage is involved.

FedorinoGore··on Study: Inflammation drives social media use
I think it's not only depression but also general "discomfort" that comes often with increased inflammation. You feel bad - you turn to people around you for support/distraction. So it would be interesting to see "if people seek communication" online and offline. Offline would be harder to quantify though

FedorinoGore··on Ask HN: Which books have made you a better thinker and problem solver?
My top 3 (with a recency bias of course): 1. The Field Guide to Understanding 'Human Error' - most of the book I thought "but it's obvious", but it still made me actively think about system design choices not from the standpoint "how it should be used" but "how can it be misused" 2. Thinking fast and slow - just another reminder that my brain is a lazy bastard and information/awareness hygiene is very important 3. Hooked - whenever I work on any side-project I repeat the mantra "solve your personal problem first!". It was a catch for my long-term motivation in cases when I ask other people on feedback for a very raw project...
FedorinoGore··on Show HN: Easily configurable fully connected neural network
Hi, this is my first proper free-time project. I would love some comments and your thoughts on it! I wanted to try genetic/deep learning combo and thus have built this wrapper to be able to use genetic algorithms more comfortably since they have to modify a dictionary.
