I don't know if this is true, it may as well be that he caters to the majority in current Turkey.
Things are a mess in Turkey, but I'm not sure that is Erdogans fault. He's got ISIS, Russia and an aggressive West to deal with, along with a divided nation.
I'm all for an open democracy, but I don't think that would work in Turkey in this horrible situation. A measure of safety does come before democracy, a reality we are quick to forget in the more peaceful parts of the world.
IIRC, his political opponents had their chance and blew it in a spectacular manner, so that even more people voted for Erdogan. What good is a military coup, if the current government is the least of the possible evils?
I don't know much about Turkey, but I feel we may be guilty of judging Erdogan out of true context.
And yeah, I'm sure the western intelligence-agencies are as sure to plant moles in anti-nuclear movements as in the rapidly deteriorating Turkish military high command.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but c'mon.
For me, it doesn't run well on FF, but neatly in Chrome. Huge difference.
Things do not just adjust themselves as in the theories, weaker people are just squeezed harder. When they can't be squeezed any more, things _may_ change - but when is that?
The working poor are a pretty good example of this.
These last 5-10 years have been horrible for the EU. On the hight of this current migration crisis, the UK decides to hold their election.
If I didn't know Cameron was pro EU, I'd see it as a completely UKIP-skewered dickmove. The UK is letting go, just as the "tug-of-war" gets even more hairy.
There's a lot to be critical about with the EU, but going our separate ways isn't the solution for Europe vs the world. And at the height of this crisis it is just... cowardice? I don't know.
This piece is garbage and it shows in the very first section. I've now watched the interview for a second time. The quote about white slavers was an obvious attempt at a joke, but it keeps getting repeated and abused. Why? Because shock-effect at clickbait. It even gets stuff like this on hackernews!
But don't get me wrong. I also don’t think Mr. Robertson is trying to deceive us. I truly believe that he believes in every word he says.
It certainly isn't just link-material for his principles and www.willpowered.co website...
Reading this thread, it seems some people think the problem is that it is legal to record stuff in the open. IMHO, that is the wrong take on it.
Let's take license-plates. I don't mind that a police officer is able to see it and note where I am at a given time. But it becomes something quite different when we have surveillance-systems recording where every car is all the time. I do mind that.
It is the systems that are scary and ripe for abuse, not individuals.
Just saying for comparison, not for some "don't eat cows" agenda.
Cow fart source: http://www.fastcoexist.com/3054212/collecting-cow-farts-the-...
(208l of methane farts = 135g/day. 120 days = 16.2kg. 97 x 10^6/16.2 = roughly 6 x 10^6.)
Just smell that dairy air...
My mind is just blown with the possibilities of a software-layer on our real world, slowly growing from this initial piece of hardware. I want to be a part of this.
And then they put THAT picture, with the selling-point being games, 3D tours and Skype. This is just horrible.
Do they even care?
The "Publish or Perish" has made Gish Gallops much harder to catch and almost impossible to punish.
Woe! :P
Denmark had a guy who killed 4 policemen. They let him out 33 years later on a pardon; by then he was 71 and had server about 33 years.

Back then, Google's Chrome was still an exciting new thing being discovered by many non-techies, fast and simple. Google seemed like a company dead set on being the good guys.
Things have muddled since, IMHO.
The masses are pretty important in discussions about what kind of society we ultimately want.
Lot's of dictatorships have called themselves "socialist", maybe you are confusing the term?
Capitalism and socialism works exceptionally well hand-in-hand.
The terrorists desperately want this to be about religion. They want this to be about Muslims vs the rest. If they can make it that, if we in the west will believe that THAT is it, the terrorists can speak directly to all the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world and recruit from them. They will justify their horrible actions vs other Muslims with the reasoning that they did it for all Islam which was "threatened".
It is a political struggle within Islam. Every western nation is walking on eggshells to keep it so. Don't support the terrorists by saying "They said Allahu Akbar, it's religious".
Want to dishearten Daesh? Challenge them and spit in their face, show them their actions is for nothing? Walk with Christian if you're Muslim and a Muslim if you're a Christian (or atheist or whatever).
If the western world starts feeling it is at war with Islam, Muslims will unite under those terrorist's banner and we're in for a very long, shitty haul.
The worse we treat Muslims in our own countries, the easier simple individuals will be to turn to the terrorist course.
If we attack a Muslim country, hordes of Muslims will travel there to fight for the Prophet.
These attacks are all desperate attempts at starting an avalanche. Don't let them play you, talk with your friends, stay calm.
There's a sweetspot with weighing planning and doing.
