History is the best reason not to trust the government, because it has been behind unbelievably evil things; and politicians have promised to solve every problem you can think of 10x over, enacted legislation to do so, and lo-and-behold they all still exist.
Biden would be a better example. Biden made a point to market himself as a feminist and someone who "believes women [accusers]." Trump did not.
> No Chinese woman can ever be the best tennis player anymore.
China already struggles mightily in both men's and women's tennis. They don't have any player in men's or women's that cracks the top 100.
That's the point. The best managers/CEOs are mostly getting out of the way and telling person A to CC person B about a new idea. Not screwing up a system that works isn't the same as adding value.
Bending over backwards to avoid offending people isn't good policy, because it just lowers the bar for what makes people offended.
Lots of parents would be happy to stay where they are and pay the cost of private education if it were available.
> magically get cheaper the moment you bring the "free market" into the discussion.
Capitalism isn't magic. It's incentives. Right now if a school is doing poorly there is almost zero incentive to change, because parents aren't legally allowed to send there kids to a different school out-of-district.
This is on legislators banning students from getting an education outside their district, and banning or significantly hampering private education.
How often are building blueprints re-used?
E.g. I have a company and we need to expand and want our own building. Do we really need to hire an architect to design something new? Surely someone has already designed a building in the last 5 years that would suit our purpose. Just buy those blueprints and make it again (with some slight adjustment for local codes, geography, etc.). Perhaps this is done frequently and simply not very noticeable?
(I understand the same blueprints may be reused for multiple buildings in one complex, and more often in the public sector).
Or they could be several times more efficient. $17.5 billion/yr can do a lot.
Facilities where the family pays aren't going to get away with mistreatment, because the family will choose a different facility.
