People are slowly realizing that it was a mistake, but its gonna take some time to fix the situation.
Is there any info on how many of them were school shootings? how many of them were gang violence related death?

still not a reasonable justification to misdirect talented individuals to mediocre colleges and waste their potential.
On a long term, this negatively affects scientific progress, and indirectly the national security.
