Datsundere··on The IRS Decided to Get Tough Against Microsoft. Microsoft Got Tougher. (2020)
> the site is perfectly functional and not a PITA to use.

Been trying to get an EIN and the site tells me to call a customer service number. The number has a wait time of 1hr+.

Oh also the site has "working hours" Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

that's fucking wild

Datsundere··on Former intel officer says 'non-human biologics’ found at alleged UFO crash sites
Eric Weinstein has a reasonable voice here. Considering there is nobody that is a subject matter expert in these topics employed in these programs, this is just a wild goose chase from something more sinister they're doing with money. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMJ4cbO88F4
Datsundere··on Walmart Sells Fake 30TB Hard Drive That's Two Small SD Cards
that's hilarious
Datsundere··on Up all night with a Twitch millionaire
Riot has been taking Tyler1 seriously and even had him voice over for their preseason announcements. He's been collaborating with Riot a lot so not just a puny streamer.
Datsundere··on HTTP is obsolete – it's time for the distributed, permanent web (2015)
This has been bothering for the longest time. I would love to learn more about efforts that are being taken to avoid these workarounds we have for certs expiring, dns issues and such.

A lot of website hacking could've been avoided with a better design like even having encryption as standard.

Datsundere··on Reactive Clojure: A web language
I think people are overlooking the fact that javascript and css is a hot mess to deal with. We need something like flutter that makes maintaining these easier.
Datsundere··on Windows Terminal Preview 1.11 Release

Datsundere··on Ask HN: Any Good Alternative for Docker?
you don't need docker if you're developing ruby/rails apps
Datsundere··on John Carmack visits Starbase
AGI on classical computers? is this a joke?
Datsundere··on Restaurant workers quit at record rate
I'm amazed with the amount of ignorance in this thread from people who've never run a restaurant yet alone run a business for that matter.
Datsundere··on Restaurant workers quit at record rate
The current labor shortage is purely because of the unemployment and covid benefits and being paid out to people. Why work when you get to stay home and get money doing nothing?
Datsundere··on Why I Work on Ads
Ads should not exist period. Youtube worked without ads before and it can work without ads. I don't need to be paying a premium to use a service.

Why are ads the way to generate revenue? Like I don't care about buying a coffee grinder. Ads not only help contribute to needless purchases but also directly affect the environment cause of that.

Datsundere··on The majority of 18- to 29-year-olds in the US are now living with their parents
Funnily enough, there was a thread on hacker news where this guy was saying that his friend who lived with his parents was a coward and therefore everyone that lives with their parents are cowards.

I guess majority of 20 year olds are cowards then

Datsundere··on Deno 1.4
would this mean you can't build electron apps with deno?
Datsundere··on Oracle Wins Bid for TikTok in U.S.
First thing they're going to do is install their slow and really difficult to use BI tools and the db that takes hours to download.

It's insane when I tried installing oracle db and BI tools on my laptop. It was the worst software installation process in my life.

Datsundere··on Is the web getting slower?
I’ve been thinking of creating a new browser that doesn’t have to rely on the dumpster node is and a rendering api that’s better than css.
Datsundere··on Ask HN: What Happened to Larry Page?
Do you realize 110b is not liquid assets? If he sold all his stock Facebook would plummet into oblivion
Datsundere··on Kosmonaut: web browser from scratch in Rust
How does one get started with building a rendering engine? I would love to get some guides on this. I agree that there are inherent problems with css with how complex it is now
Datsundere··on Stanford cancels plans to bring half of undergrads back to campus
>I know people who went to college, but lived at home with their parents "to save money". In reality, they didn't need to save the minimal room and board fees of a state school; they were mostly just cowards.

1. Anecdotal evidence that you know a few people that didn't grow up for whatever reason does not mean everyone is like that.

2. In most asian culture, people live with their parents for the entirety of life. Somehow according to you more than half the world's population is cowards. I digress because we're talking about american colleges and living in America but it still baffles me that someone educated like you would think there is nothing wrong with a stupid argument using selection bias.

Datsundere··on Fortnite seems to have been removed from the Play Store as well
This is exactly what DHH fought over apple to get their app approved in the play store. If you still think that having to pay 25% of your profit just to list your product that you didn't even use their tools to make, then you're insane.
Datsundere··on Microsoft Fast Design
There are plenty of these libraries. Can someone tackle the hot mess css is? Give me one way of doing things. Css breaks do much shit for me to the point where I don’t want to code
Datsundere··on Tampa teen accused of being ‘mastermind’ behind Twitter hack
What about when NSA wants to build a backdoor in encryption standards? Who is at fault then?
Datsundere··on Why is CSS the way it is?
I despise CSS. Typescript has made JS a lot better. But I despise CSS. It's not engineering when you're writing CSS. it's all guess work.
Datsundere··on Ask HN: Side projects that are making money, but you'd not talk about them?
how does a license server work? did you build it yourself?
Datsundere··on Ask HN: Looking for side project ideas
I've been wanting to create a side project that I can expand and hire people back in my home country (there are tons of college graduates but because the country is a third world country, there aren't many tech jobs).

My goal is to bring a change on how software is developed using lean methods and based on user research and feedback so the devs aren't looked as sweat shop cheap labor from Asia.

I'm having trouble because I'm not sure how I should start. I don't think I'd want a VC to be involved. There are some great ideas here, I think approaching people and asking them about their problems and empathizing is not easy as an engineer myself but I'm learning.

Any pointers appreciated
