I've been finding it challenging to get a new job this year.. it's been painful with all the layoffs and increased competition. Jobs coming through now are reduced on salary too :(

I'm burnt out and frustrated, the whole covid era has really taken it's toll on my mental health. Hard to see a way forward when we're hell bent on degrowth as prices spiral out of control.

It don't work, I eat 1 meal a day with either potatoes or bread and I maintain the weight. I found instead that reducing my carb intake was the only way I could consistently lose weight.

How am I suppose to embody the world if I can't talk about myself?

I'm going through a terrible time, I'm a dev. And last 3-4 months I found the salary has decreased on all openings by a good 20-30%.

I've been at the same company for 15 years. Last year we got a new line manager and he is a bully and makes a lot of our lives miserable, recently he started targeting me. I thought it'd be fine because I can move on with my experience but because of the market I feel trapped and I've now got depression from the stress and being unable to sleep. I take pride in my work and put in more hours than the team but there is no pleasing him and upper management don't care because they love his reports.

I'm lost too although in 40s and stuck in dead end job that has basically meant I've stagnated for 15 years while all my peers have 2-3x me. I'm left behind and fear it's too late with the current economic climate.

Should've hired me, I'm a nice dev and can keep secrets.
