Have you got a forum to engage your customers with directly? Most times (and this is a huge generalisation) but these consumers aren't 'evil', they just either have no money or don't know any better.
If you can engage with them and get them to like you it'll make them more disinclined to pirate you, you could also give away a 'lite' version, there's no need to pirate your software if they get it for free, then concentrate on adding more features to the regular priced one for them to upgrade too eventually.
There's no real technical solution to piracy, it's always going to be a human issue so needs to be looked at from that perspective.
Sexual dimorphism is a well known biological fact. Men and women are functionally and structurally different, whether that's caused solely by genetics or by culture or a combination doesn't really change anything.
That does not mean either is inferior or superior, just different. Why can't people get that? People are different but all should be treated equally.
Given that one of the criteria the VPNs were measured on was 'fun' makes me inclined to dismiss the whole thing.
VPNs are to stop the secret police from coming and killing your family and taking you away, 'fun' is coding, not playing with your life.
Is just plain wrong, see ( https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/1nz7k6/were_... ) also it depends on what you mean by language, Genevieve Petzinger has shown a fully formed written cave art language going back since man (or woman) first started drawing in caves.
I can't imagine been so insecure in my beliefs that I'd actively refuse to engage with opposing viewpoints, in case I got 'polluted'!
The whole article is predicated upon a bunch of faulty assumptions, it's like it was written by a simple minded child.
It is, but it shouldn't be. I taught my niece calculus, programming, foreign languages (mostly swear words, her mom got mad!) She was like a sponge and just soaked it all up, I made it fun and she loved it.
I think all kids have that potential but the education system lets them down, class sizes are too big and can only go as far as the curriculum or slowest kid there.
If it's something you want to do, I'd get upto speed then take an extended vacation from your current job and try it out. Don't quit your current job and leave yourself a way back in.
A good read on it is 'Why we cooperate' https://mitpress.mit.edu/books/why-we-cooperate by Tomasello, he comes at it from an anthropological perspective, a quick example is 'guilt', guilt is an emotion that allows other members of our tribe to see that we're sorry and to forgive us, if the tribe doesn't forgive then you're exiled and die. So your survival in that context is dependent on emotional responses etc, but reproduction certainly isn't dependent on emotions.
I find the whole idea abhorrent, people would be working then handing their wage back to their employer for their food, rent, utilities etc. It seems very dystopian.
[1] Saltaire is one example https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltaire
Passion is a fantastic asset but a lot of these people confuse it with stupidity.
