ChronosKey··on The end of Airplane.dev
Heap was bought by ContentSquare late last year. Product is still around but I imagine they're working to consolidate the products.
ChronosKey··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (April 2020)
Heap (YC W13) | Software Engineer | San Francisco, CA | New York, NY | Remote | Fulltime | https://heap.io

We’re a small team building the analytics engine that powers 6,000 companies and helps them make smarter decisions.

Heap automates away the pain of data. Other analytics tools require you to define events upfront and manually instrument code. Instead, Heap automatically captures everything: clicks, submissions, taps, etc. This lets our users analyze data instantly and retroactively, without writing code.

Our app-layer stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, Redis, and PostgreSQL. Under the hood, Heap is powered by ZooKeeper, Kafka, and Citus.

If you are interested, please email at anojh@heap.io or visit https://heap.io/careers/jobs.

Opinions differ on the matter. While I think you should be able to quote the word, I understand that not everyone feels the same way, and so I never say the full word because I don't want to unintentionally offend anyone. I don't feel strongly enough about my opinion to say the word regardless of other people's opinions.

We’d particularly like to get to know you if:

- you communicate with clarity and precision. We care about this almost as much as your technical ability.

- you're passionate, even if it's not about analytics. There should be something you know more about than anyone on our team.

- you’ve written 10,000 lines of code that look embarrassing in retrospect. ... and you've written 10,000 lines of good code since then.

Our app-layer stack is TypeScript, React, Node.js, Redis, and PostgreSQL.

Under the hood, Heap is powered by CoffeeScript, Scala, ZooKeeper, Kafka, and CitusDB.

That's what git bisect does
ChronosKey··on Show HN: Nomouse
I think the idea is that there are times when using the keyboard is faster than using the mouse, whether it's using a certain editor or knowing the program's keyboard shortcuts. There's also the time taken to switch between using the keyboard and the mouse. It's kind of a micro-optimization.
ChronosKey··on Using Simulated Annealing to Solve Logic Puzzles
Hi, author here:

Yep, this is the sort of thing we study in our cooperative and adaptive algorithms class. Similar techniques to what you suggest are shown here https://books.google.ca/books?id=G5ML5EYch94C&pg=PA88&lpg=PA...

ChronosKey··on Using Simulated Annealing to Solve Logic Puzzles
Simulated annealing and similar techniques such as Tabu Search are good for problems that have large search spaces due to combinatorial explosion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combinatorial_explosion) and can be expressed as a state and an associated cost/fitness function.

I'm currently looking for a 4-month internship in the SF Bay Area. I have 4 years of programming experience and a lot of mobile development experience, particularly with Android (got a few published apps available for your perusal at my website).

I'm super eager to learn and I'm looking for a worthwhile opportunity to develop my skills even further.

Minor nitpick: `i.e.` should be `e.g.` in this case (for the search field's hint).

On my Nexus 5, if I'm on the right screen, it takes 1 tap (Gmail widget). But I agree that bump is way more convenient for sending this type of data and is well worth the effort.
