based on the description i'm assuming this is the easter egg. `At 1:03 the camera holds on the western ocean. There's a cave down there with a Borland in it (Zanderphagus scarii). I inject a bunch of fish in to coax him out. The wiki says he only comes out when there are enough fish. What isn't written there, is that it's also only at night but the game doesn't tell the player when that happens except for a toolbar image in the original game.`

with things like amazon's sidewalk you might not have any choice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Sidewalk

I think the implication was that people stand around places where waymo goes often and just hold doors open for arriving waymo's to be "helpful". When the passenger leaves they just leave the door open for their doordash friends who are nearby

yup that looks like the one. i had an interest at the time but i'm glad i got out of that after reading your story. :)

thanks for the details it was a pretty interesting read.

was this a couple decades ago or so? i remember reading a blog about someone who implanted a magnet in the tip of one of their fingers and then put a chip in the skin between the thumb and forefinger.

drop bear => Already said Koala. but if you type it before you say koala the answer drops from the top of the page. so many great easter eggs. got 92 in the end

This is amazing. Many years ago I started a similar project that but with a more traditional word search style. This one is much better as I couldn't get the interface the way I wanted. Congrats!

I see they have a subscription and it requires an app. Does the app require an account and all that jazz or can I just use it without giving away anything?

You can find them listed here. https://deflock.me/map#map=5/39.828300/-98.579500

District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia according to wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMV

I read a long time ago that Fran Drescher of The Nanny fame was huge in replacing those audiences with extras instead of random people.

`I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who have left.`

they didn't leave. they were shown the door.

I didn't know you could do that with ublock. Thanks!

It was Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve. Was an ok book. (Better than the film)

Serious question: Are actors, writers, etc not considered "Independent Contractors" in the US?

Isn't this what amazon's Whispernet is for? Always on low power bluetooth listeners embedded in echos and other amazon devices. If the TV supports it and you don't have an echo it can use your neighbor's echo/internet to send telemetry data.

Ah, ok. Completely different from what I was thinking with regards to scrollbars/css. Thanks!

Sorry but what's overlay scrollbars? (I found a few results but I'm not sure if they're the same thing you're talking about)

I haven't tried this yet but it does seem very on point with my own sleeping problems. My wife falls asleep at the drop of a hat but I spend at least an hour or more trying to fall asleep. I've tried circadian rhythm lighting, blue blockers, eye masks, ear plugs, everything I could think of to no avail.

Hopefully this helps me and if anyone else is having issues hopefully it helps you.

Thanks for the update! I did notice they were flaky and maybe it's my queries that were more flaky than others that it stuck out at me more than when they possibly worked.

Hopefully you can get this resolved as it's become extremely frustrating searching technical pages to weed out unrelated information.

I've never had problems adding operators until recently. I couldn't say when the change happened but I've been successfully using them since I moved to duckgo many years ago. I've been increasingly frustrated with duckgo and finally decided to find out what was going on and found this page.

I went looking for the reason why searches weren't filtering properly. So I'm not sure what's going on but filtering by site only (which seems to be the only option left) doesn't help at all.

It seems duckduckgo removed all the operators like

  -, +, and, intitle, inurl

and others

I noticed the exact same thing myself. I can't remember any of the words outside of the game. Once I'm in the game though they all come back to me. I've been trying to talk with my wife every time I learn a word now to help me cement it in my mind but it's very frustrating.

Not quite sure what's wrong but the FAQ on your site doesn't expand when you click the questions. Debugger says `__webpack_require__` is undefined. (no adblock or scriptblock)

Reminds me of a story about Gene Roddenberry. (of Star Trek fame) Apparently he wrote lyrics to the original series theme song so that he'd get half the royalties every time it was played even though the lyrics weren't used. (Inside Star Trek: The Real Story, 1997, pp 178, 185)
