* Who are the people I want to serve?
* How do I find out what problems they have that I can help?
* How do I reach them?
* What can create to help them solve their problems?
* How do I get them to see me and my products as the solution to their problems?
* How do I become trustworthy enough in their eyes to try my products?
You can learn how to do a lot of this yourself and there are many courses out there like 30x500 that can help. As an alternative, you might want to find and partner with a good 'Business Guy' who can bring the audience while you build the product.
DESCRIPTION
Brickwork is a rapidly growing startup that is changing the way customers engage with brick & mortar stores, online. We are looking for senior software engineers to help us shape the product and the company while growing with us.
About you: You are an experienced full-stack Ruby on Rails developer comfortable working both on the front-end and back-end. You have a love of great products and the craft of coding. You are ready to have a big impact on our codebase, engineering process and culture. Ideally, you’re excited about helping to build strong engineering and product culture in NYC (this position is in our NYC office).
About us: We are a smart, efficient and fun team (if we say so ourselves) that has a great time working together. Brickwork is funded, has a strong customer pipeline and is poised for tremendous growth. We care far more for results than we do face time, but we certainly enjoy each others’ company. We also understand that there’s life outside the office, and that a well rounded team brings their best to work each day. This is a marathon and not a sprint and we are focused on building a company for the long haul.
REQUIREMENTS
* 2+ years’ Ruby or Rails experience
* Experience working on a large Rails codebase
* Computer science education a plus, but not essential (some of the sharpest developers we’ve worked with have transitioned from other fields)
Ideally you are:
* A driven, passionate, get-@&^$-done type
* Excited about working with a top-notch team with which you can share knowledge and mutual respect
* Unafraid to be opinionated and to think deeply about the product we’re building
BENEFITS
* Competitive compensation
* Generous equity grants
* Full medical benefits

What we do instead: filter through resumes, pick ones that we like for a 15-30 minute phone screen followed by a 1 hour conversation with the entire team if we decide to move forward.
Read those articles and take the time to research the parts you don't understand until you really grok it. Read and try to understand good code, take every opportunity to go a little bit deeper into the tools you use (web frameworks, libraries, etc) if they are open-source. Getting better sometimes means knowing more, but mostly it's about not being afraid to dive in.
Full stack generalist with Ruby on Rails chops, product development, technical project management.
Experienced with jQuery, jQuery mobile, haml, sass but not afraid to learn whatever your project needs to help it move forward.

I'm especially missing dropping pins to share location and search bar tucked up at the top in Google Maps, but Apple's lack of integrated transit directions and putting me in random locations is a no go for city life.
Sigh...
