I'm glad I got it out of the way early, I'm a few years into my next job now and loving it.
They'll spend millions of dollars on something that's hardly better than a college project, mostly written by interns and barely cobbled together to get a working demo.
The justification for sloppy code is the fact that there's no oversight on projects like these. They just get it done even if it sucks. Working in defense was some of the worst code and poorest management I've seen in my life.
One of my friends works as an engineer for the state DMV. He tells me about similar issues. Some people he work with should never have even gotten the job, they barely know how to code.
That is exactly what the researchers were doing.
They obviously do not understand music, its values, or its influence on society.
I'd love to make an extra $240 a month.
I was pretty green at the time, so we just ended up with a terrible codebase after being there for a few years.
It was already bad to begin with, but that's because it seemed like what that company does is churn through junior engineers and interns at the nearby university to get their shoddy projects done.
TLDR: If you hire too many bad or junior engineers, you're going to lose control of your project since you might not have time to review all their code.
Are people so reliant on Amazon that they forgot retail stores exist? I'm confused why this exists.
Currently for sale are generation 9 (9000), and these are even out the door soon. 10th gen is right around the corner.
Within these thousand series are the ACTUAL part numbers.
Ex: 9900K, 9980XE, etc.
These names are even more confusing but are what tell you the real power of a chip within the lineup for that year.
Our company has a very flat structure, so sure we have product managers that tell me what to do, but in no way are they my boss.
This works better than any other org structure I've been a part of in the past.
It's pretty primitive if you go back and play it, but the locomotion system is something I haven't seen in any other game.
It was pretty good at this. Great fun for experimenting with locomotion.
Palantir isn't a startup, it's a defense company.
And then organizing and compiling it into a book.
Why do we live in fear of our own healthcare system? It's truly upsetting for US citizens to fear getting professional medical help.
It's like if you got into a car accident and your car is totaled, but you try to fix it yourself and keep driving it around because you fear the repair costs.
We're all just broken cars afraid of going to the mechanic.
Edit: done! Can't wait to hear from you, I'd love some more ideas to put into the book.
I'll check out Mindset, thanks. (I couldn't find it on google, send a link if you don't mind)
Social media is a curse on our society's mental wellbeing, even if it can be a very useful tool in spreading important information.
I'm actually working on a book which documents my process I developed to do this for myself. Mental models, different perspectives on your habits and vices, etc. Please let me know if you have anything that's worked for you. I think this is something everyone should do.
I haven't seeked help from professionals yet but I will definitely consider it.
