The idea that organisms evolved to be survival vehicles for our genes totally inverted and simplified my view of life. It gave me a plausible explanation for how we came to be, and put the final nail in religion's coffin (for me).

edit: Added Canada; we do the same.
1. John and Dan started the podcast together
2. John came up with the name
3. Something happend between the two of them
4. John leaves, taking the show with him.
From a business perspective, I'm shocked at both John and Dan. John took the whole brand and said it was his and started monitizing it right away, presumably cutting Dan out of any revenue. Dan, is just letting that slide. Doesn't he have a right to half?
Johnny Ive can't simply walk away and use the iPhone design because he came up with the idea.
...anyway, like I said, I really shouldn't give a shit about this whole situations. I just think it stinks.
It's the same reason we prosecute criminals. The dollar costs of prosecuting a petty thief is several orders of magnitude more than the stolen chocolate bar. But it has to be done.
The idea tha AT&T will learn because people are "voting with their dollar" is a joke.
Sorry, I know you are really interested in sharing your product but many of us want to know what people are willing to give up to chase their dreams.
Thanks again.
1. What was your job.
2. How much did you get paid.
3. How much savings(runway) do you have to support this product.
Thanks!
- HN is about sharing and opinions, so I decide to share mine.
- The poster opened an HN account 4 days ago and the startup was launched 5 days ago.
- "Open Letter" titled posts almost always leads to someone bashing a product or individual. Imagine how relieved HN will be when they see that it is indeed a "heart warming" thank you letter...did you feel good reading this?
- Without the product the startup wouldn't be here. All credit goes to Balsamiq while conveniently encouraging you to view the startup.
- And, as a software developer (who has one more than once been NOT paid for services rendered) this one really raises my suspicion. The poster received the software 8 monts ago and will get the $79 to Balsamic ASAP.
Anyway, right or wrong, that is how I came to my original comment. I'll take my down votes if necessary.
edit: formatting
What I learned from the article:
1. They use different licenses
2. TMux has a client/server architecture
3. One uses ctrl-a and the other uses ctrl-b as the control key
4. The goals for TMux performance is to be "relatively fast"
Admittedly, the number is pulled out of a hat, but I would guess maybe 5000 Canadians.
Sounds like he wanted to experience life as part of the proletariat, but discovered that "American Beauty" was well, just a really good movie.
This headline reads like they were inflating on purpose.

Perhaps your title should be "Google Calendar is not perfect" and we could all respond with "What is?"

Mandate laptops because you super-awesome-change-the-world startup is going to inspire your developers to work hours outside of the office, even if you do mandate 8-5 office day.
Every developer gets two monitors, no exception.
You can't encourage a person to be an Olympic rower by simply providing a stool and a stick to paddle with.
