Is BeReal not a social media because there's no algorithmic feed?
It seems to be obviously social media to me
For what it's worth I'm not suggesting anything, just pointing out the obvious fact that this war doesn't end with the whole of Gaza population being turned into martyrs. Looks to me like Israel responded exactly like the jihadists wanted in the first place with their attack.
It isn't possible to destroy Hamas with violence, or apartheid for that matter. Israel has created hatred towards themselves that will last for generations, even if they could kill every last Hamas member, they've made damn sure that a subset of Palestinian (if not broader) youth will reorganize a militia and the cycle of violence will go on.
I'm not complaining, glad there's more tools for searching outside the scope of SEO spam or content mills, and competition can only make the niche better (presumably, unless it gets big enough to incentivize disguising commercial content as niche blogs). Just felt like it might be a bit disingenuous to quote a blog list as inspiration for a search engine focused on "the non-commercial part of the web" which is exactly your engine's aim and wording, didn't know they've been working on small web initiatives since a similar timeline.
Hopefully you both find success and with it uplift hobbyist websites.

I did it with COI gene, which is just a short (1000ish base pairs with our snails IIRC) sequence of purely random ATGC base pairs. Lots of unique sequences make the short strands easy to match, just get a bunch of 10-15 BP bits and you can match the whole thing.
Now if your gene is 62M BP of repeating palindrome sequences, you can imagine how hard it would be to align random pieces sequenced as it will be very hard to find unique sequences to match.
And by saying FAAMG instead of FAANG I make the statement that Cramer was high as a kite when he put Netflix in there instead of Microsoft. Today you might make a case for an N, but not at Microsoft's expense.
It's not like Intel and AMD don't exist, but if everyone is pushing each other at the door for Nvidia chips..
Is Ubuntu still better at having every driver working out of the box and being kinda seemless or is that more a thing of the past?
Probably gonna try again some time but for now I try to think as little as possible about my OS as long as I can code on it.
I don't think GP is saying they're not doing a good job, but that "ending homelessness" sounds like a euphemism.
While it's been serving me well, it still feels quirky and a lot of hardware stuff just didn't work out of the box so I've accumulated a fair few hacks and I dread having to butt my head against those again when this laptop inevitably craps out. Sometimes it's just finding the package you need but I also had to do a lot googling and changing speficic lines from specific config files for a bunch of things. Namely my volume buttons, mute button, Bluetooth, Bluetooth devices, recorder, brightness buttons and others I forget. My volume buttons still don't work if it's through a Bluetooth device but I'm just putting up with it cause I couldn't find an answer fast enough and on a new connect I have to explicitly go in pavucontrol (or whichever it was, "firefox no sound bluetooth debian" is seared in my search history). I never managed to get the Steam for Linux thing working and when I try again it seems to clash with the remnants of some old attempt.
Maybe I just don't have enough experience and it would be the same on any Debian or Linux distro but AFAIK Ubuntu does much better at handling drivers out of the box.
I like the simplicity of it at face value but I'm not sure why I wouldn't go with Ubuntu next time to avoid the hassles or if I'm not being stubborn by not going for Windows with WSL (assuming I don't buy another old horse). Worst is I still need to run a Windows VM in it when I'm compiling something to .exe or some specific Windows only software.
I find this comment by user "Dad" very endearing.
