BanzaiTokyo··on Show HN: Firmament is the Limit – a one-button iPhone flight game
Hi HN, the developer here. I am quite proud of what I made. And I still say I made even though the heavy lifting was done with codex. The incredible part that AI can now do not only the code but also visuals, interfaces and music. So what I did? I did the game design and tuning as well as art direction. I think I did a good job :D

BanzaiTokyo··on Amazon Dark Patterns
this is the classic pattern that has been used by ecommerce sites for over a decade now. Once the checkout process starts, the number of links that may distract your checkout process drops dramatically.

BanzaiTokyo··on Plagiarized news sites are using Cyrillic characters to avoid detection
substitution of characters o/a/e (that are similar in Latin and Cyrillic alphabets) has been used for years to pass automatic plagiarism detectors.

it will be impossible to park another car close to a self driving vehicle - it will always move away.
BanzaiTokyo··on Developers who use spaces make more money than those who use tabs
that would be the most logical explanation, but the article mentions that "The effect is smaller in Europe and especially large in India, but it does appear within each country, suggesting this isn’t the sole confounding factor." Which makes me think that there are other factors at play that add up.
BanzaiTokyo··on My Portfolio
Beautiful projects and well organized portfolio! Congrats on the revamped website.
BanzaiTokyo··on My Portfolio
I think a website falls into the category of things that you can use.
BanzaiTokyo··on Ask HN: What are some examples of successful single-person businesses?
I suppose there is very little public information about such companies because they have no obligations of sharing it.

you don't really want more people in Tokyo metro, at least not in peak hours

BanzaiTokyo··on FBI arrests author of NanoCore after it was pirated and abused by hackers
"No" what? Could you explain what do you mean by that. Just to be clear, I didn't make any statements about control.
BanzaiTokyo··on FBI arrests author of NanoCore after it was pirated and abused by hackers
borderline industries such as drug and gun production are heavily licensed and controlled by the state. I believe this case should fall into a similar category.

BanzaiTokyo··on ReMarkable – A writable eInk tablet
it is amazing. it is lightweight ereader that allows you to read and annotate PDF documents and take notes. To be it is worth the price.

BanzaiTokyo··on Understanding Aesthetics with Deep Learning
I believe that there are factors that go beyond visible composition. Just a though experiment, I imagine that the brain would evaluate easthetics of two similar images differently depending on whether it is an image of an object it recognizes or not - when evaluating the image with an object other qualities of the object (that are not necessarily visible in the image) will be taken into account.

BanzaiTokyo··on Why People Should Learn Python
Python is very and increasingly popular and I guess the reason it is at the top is to recommend to the people who practice Perl or Ruby to take a look at this language as well.
BanzaiTokyo··on Mise en abyme
Keep us posted on how it goes!
BanzaiTokyo··on Mise en abyme
>he continues to leave useless posts complaining about articles he doesn't personally like

I just wanted to share that for a French speaker (not even for a native French speaker) the phrase "mise en abyme" is very familiar. So there is nothing about me personally not liking the article.

BanzaiTokyo··on Mise en abyme
French is not my native language, however the wikipedia link adds absolutely nothing to what I already knew. And don't get me wrong, I don't claim to "have total understanding of a concept".

To see what I am talking about, imagine instead of the link this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recursion

BanzaiTokyo··on Mise en abyme
For a French person, it is very difficult to see the value of the link here.
