One year we had an idea for a system. I brought Anderson Consulting in, explained what I wanted, sent them off with a quote. There were two interns in the meeting and they said they wanted a chance. 3 weeks later Anderson came in to pitch what they wanted to do. They did their side show to build a prototype ($175K) and then the system, another $650K. Elapsed time about 7 months.
Interns said they wanted to demo what they had come up with after talking to the business people. So they did the demo, Anderson people were going awesome, we will take these active wireframes and build the prototype and come back in 2 months. Interns said, no, this is a full working system, pulled up the code that was behind it, interfaces to the primary DB, etc. Another hour of stuff.
So it turns out the interns had built in 3 weeks what Anderson wanted $825K and 3/4 of a year to build. I was (and am) so proud of them. Love interns that you can just unleash. They spent the rest of their internship doing the docs, putting it into production. At the end, my boss, the CIO gave each of them a $100K "scholarship" and job offers to come back when they graduated.
I was trying to get it set up so I could use twig templates inside pages. I couldn't get it to work since both frameworks ( Wordpress & Symfony) want to be in charge. Any secrets you can impart?
https://fx.hot.page/ has some of the web components on it. While the slinky one is silly fun, the gallery one is very cool. Looks like it's light weight and easy to use. I was impressed by the annotated source code page where you explain in detail what is going on. While jumping, swirling, multicolored text is your mission, your forte is the documentation you've written. Nice job.
License for the first year, which means license for the future. An awesome money grab by local governments.
Nice, I'm always a fan of a well planned grift.
Chrome.
I don't want to start looking at "Democrat" adds when I click on a Biden Article. I don't want to see adds for the "Republicans" when I click on a Trump Article. Lather, rinse, repeat for Olympics, local news, world news, cricket, etc.
So to stop targeting, I don't log in. Figure out how to take donations, I'll send you money. I got my local PBS station into this.
But the Emission Types are limited, digital emissions are not allowed. (AM and SSB) are specified.)
In theory, you could have a transmission header / trailer in Esperanto that would route the message, and then the message traffic. But that sounds like a hill that wouldn't be worth the climb.
So this is gold. Editing xSV files has been an ongoing pain, and this plugin is just amazingly awesome. Thanks for the link to it.
Burroughs was always big on being able to network computers together. Their B20 line was awesome on the amount of sharing you could do between systems. Lots of sites had one or two machines with disks on them, the rest would use the network to get to the data. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burroughs_B20
I've not been able to get into the third chapter, but it looks equally interesting.

Where I'm at (outside of Philly) $1K is the bottom end. Depending on the distance from the panel, access to the garage and the house service it can be lots more. I had mine done (panel on the other end of the house) and it was $2200
There was interesting procedure names in the Master Control Program (yes, Tron fans, the real MCP) JEDGARHOOVER was central to system level security. I taught the customer facing MCP class for a few years.
In the early days they gave you the source code and it wasn't uncommon for people to make patches and share them around. Everyone sent patches into the plant and in a release or two you would see them come back as official code.

They had an attached scientific processor to do vector and array computations.
