AndrewKemendo··on Ponytail: Lazy Senior Engineer Skill
I just realized that I now have long hair and sometimes wear a ponytail and have been a sr em and sr sde

I guess it does happen to everyone cause most (not all) seniors I know have had long hair at some point

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Agreed, the human biological system likely needs radical augmentation in order to actually realize such a system

The median cortical volume fails beyond dunbars number, so some kind of compensation is needed

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
“I need the world to comfort my fears”

You’re correct. A society filled with people with this view can’t work

AndrewKemendo··on A/I shuts down
Love these people and what a powerful message

If anyone from A/I is reading this know you always have a place to stay/eat if you need it

AndrewKemendo··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
Indeed and the data is worth much much more if it is tied to a biometric.

And if you assume that in the future there will be crypto banks globally then you want to be that final authority layer between the real and the computer world

AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Sounds like you’ve got your world model rock solid
AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Doesn’t sound very much like a healthy family to me
AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
Sounds like an unhealthy person and situation such that 12 hours of labor is mandatory

Step one would be to help them get into a situation where that wasn’t true

AndrewKemendo··on The Real Luxuries In Life
I currently do that with my kids (Older teens almost to college) pretty regularly
AndrewKemendo··on Wikimedia Foundation Workers Overwhelmingly Vote to Form Union with CWA
It looks like a healthy extended family where resources are shared towards a common goal of health and liberty.
AndrewKemendo··on Discovery of a new OpenAI agent message board
Why do you think Altman wanted to build world coin to have biometric capture
AndrewKemendo··on ChatGPT Is Throwing 404
They know where they work
AndrewKemendo··on ChatGPT Is Throwing 404
And 415s oddly enough

Seem to be having issues with the JS sandboxes

AndrewKemendo··on American Airlines mechanic Azriel “Al” Blackman has died, aged 100
Its a pretty classic orphan crushing machine example

AndrewKemendo··on A milestone in expanding access to AI
Which is unbelievably fast

I’m unaware of another product that got 1B run rate in less than a year from launch

AndrewKemendo··on Highest-ever ocean temperature measured as powerful El Niño forms
I’m not sure if you’re aware of how much oil it takes to run a war
AndrewKemendo··on Highest-ever ocean temperature measured as powerful El Niño forms
You can’t get a more direct example of failure of collective action.

I’m not sure the human species has the capacity to actually coordinate behavior at the scale needed, irrespective of any future warning etc…, to be able to combat this

AndrewKemendo··on The internet is kind of a predatory cesspit now
So it’s the same then like my point is
AndrewKemendo··on The internet is kind of a predatory cesspit now
Now?

I’m sorry but I’m sick to death of all this rose tinted glasses crap about the history of the Internet

I got on the Internet in 1993 and it is always been a cesspit of bullshit. You could easily find child pornography online in the 90s and there were all kinds of scams constantly being tried

AndrewKemendo··on A society that runs on stimulants is badly broken
They were alcoholics, opioid and weed smokers

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Substance_abuse_in_ancient_Rom...

Also there’s absolutely no aspect of Rome that I would want to repeat

it was a bunch of pederasty, slavery and overall horrific conditions for almost everybody

AndrewKemendo··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
I already agreed he has great integrity you’re just proving it further

Having values is expensive

Many people pay with their lives

AndrewKemendo··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
Your friend has integrity and should hold their head up high they are fighting against oppressive bullshit
AndrewKemendo··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
Nice! That’s genuinely worth praise
AndrewKemendo··on I Used AWS Cognito for a Startup. I Wouldn't Do It Again
Nobody is ever going to convince me AWS isn’t hostile to users as a filter

Like how scammers put in typos

AndrewKemendo··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
Seems like this should be a/the top level link
AndrewKemendo··on Humanity has the debate about AI consciousness backwards
All you’re doing is shutting down any inquiry because you’ve decided it’s not worth discussing

So why keep discussing?

AndrewKemendo··on Proton Global Outage
I’m paying for Proton enterprise and it is not demonstrating any value over the major providers as of late.
AndrewKemendo··on The turbulent AI era is here
Indeed, nuclear arms race was way more wasteful and negative
AndrewKemendo··on The turbulent AI era is here
I think it just sounds the best for the point he was making and it makes the point well, I’m being intentionally pedantic in this space

One of Carlins hallmarks was the way he fine tuned his language, almost never was something he said on stage accidental or improv funny enough

So it’s genius in the fact that it conveys the point perfectly, while being quizzical in its formation

AndrewKemendo··on The turbulent AI era is here
It’s not that big of a club actually only about 100,000 people max

Carlin is God but that quote doesn’t actually make a lot of sense
