If one's own parents labored and suffered to create value and provide for their child, does that child not deserve to enjoy the fruits of that labor? If that child honors their parents by continuing a tradition of hard work, albeit more comfortably, why does he need to feel ashamed of his success? At which generation do we disinherit the sacrifices of those who came before us?
This literally means the landlord doesn't need a reason. It just means you need to give them 30days notice.
edit: oh that was saarcasm
Can you fuel such a fire with only the trash? Or do we need to supplement with other fossil fuels?
But wasn't part of the problem that there was competition among them? They were handing out favorable(fraudulent) ratings becuase they were trying to poach customers from the others?
Why would thousands of entrepreneurs open GM, Ford, and Chrysler dealerships when the manufacturers could just open a store and undercut them? These laws were a promise to protect that business model.
That doesn't mean that such laws are a great fit for our current economy, but it started out innocent enough.
- tax-sensitive allocations (i.e. munis in taxable account, reit, total bond in tax advantaged account) - Continuous tax-loss harvesting - Continuously adjustable allocation - forecasting and allocation advice - "goal based" accounts
Also user experience is worth something for some people: - UI/Apps - statements, trade confirms, tax forms - electronic only (no reams of paper sent to you) - ease of transferring funds in/out
Also note that it can be cheap. WiseBanyan is presently free (charging 25bp to turn on TLH). Betterment at 15bp ends up being only 10bp more than Vanguard's Target date funds funds at 18bp.
Betterment and Wealthfront, would be the biggest players. WiseBanyan is interesting becuase there is not fee. Sigfig is interesting becuase it trades at your existing brokerages.

"We generate revenue principally from search and display advertising on Yahoo Properties and Affiliate sites, with the majority of our revenue coming from advertising on Yahoo Properties. Our margins on revenue from advertising on Yahoo Properties are higher than our margins on revenue from advertising on Affiliate sites as we pay TAC to our Affiliates. Additionally, we generate revenue from other sources including listings-based services, facilitating commercial transactions, royalties, and consumer and business fee-based services."
Property taxes already exist. The people renting the property already pay it. If that tax goes up, then so do the rents.
And that they were likely a party to. They would place small orders on all the stocks so that they could detect activity that they could exploit at the next exchange a millisecond down the wire.
I'm not saying it's your own broker or agent that is biding up the remainder of the lots you are intending to buy. It is "observers" who are manipulating the system in a way to make you reveal to them your intentions and price, so they can "front run" you for the next transaction a millisecond later at the next exchange.
And the reason I quoted observers was becuase in my limited understanding (if i had the book in front of me I would re-read this), the HFT traders would put up some token offers up on all the stocks for the purpose of exposing potential activity that they could abuse. A quick google of this suggests that this is called "Pinging".
I thought the extent of their antenna technology was just a board with a bunch of token antenna element that gave the illusion that each subscriber was using a dedicated antenna.
By your analogy, the real estate agent knows you want to buy 5 houses, and suddenly after closing the first one, the price of the remaining 4 goes up.

Also, "two bars" may not actually be bad. If you are getting slow speeds, dropped calls, etc, then sure that is bad.
Like dropbox for file sync. Google drive, amazon cloud drive, and microsoft onedrive could be the me-too's. They are mostly differentiating on prices and platforms, but fundamentally the same.
Or taken to a further extreme, opening a gas station at the same intersection as an existing gas station. The only differentiation is which side of the street you are on. Of course this does happen, and they must be profitable enough to continue operating, but can never be wildly profitable.
Not impossible to make a business out of a "me too", but harder. Catering to a niche could work. Competing only on price typically doesn't work. Better quality and better user experience are good opportunities, but take a lot of work to reach and demonstrate.
How are you liking xero? Did you have any accounting software experience before that? I'm still using desktop Quickbooks, and I'm afraid that the online QB or xero may be missing features. Haven't made the time to eval them yet.
Are you paying Rocket Lawyer in perpetuity? Once you get your single lease and your initial questions asked what else do you need? Do they give you a discount on the evictions?
Cozy looks interesting, I'll have to check it out.
FWIW, postlets.com is great while we wait for rentolize.com ;)
