So you can run your own copy of it, and be in complete control of any information it collects.
We especially like the interface they built that ties everything together.
then the helpful guys at archive team[1] helped me create a complete archive of the site on archive.org with their irc bot.
once that was complete, i replaced the site with a notice and linked to the archives from there.
As an aside, one of the old domains that we used for a while lapsed at some point, and some spammer put up a copy of the pages from the internet archives with ads injected into the content. That eventually went to an SEO landing page a few months later.
although that was mostly to separate out hangouts from what's on my phone.
unless you get an ip in a residential or possibly university range... you're pretty screwed.

I actually played the nintendo DS adaptation of the book, which was also available on ios for a while.
it turned all the points the book was trying to make into a series of minigames that really illustrated the principles beautifully.
it takes a while to learn how to tame it, but it's crazy powerful.
I suspect there would be enough interest here to drive an open source project too.
this seems like it has fewer moving parts.
they just create more work than they create useful content. Anybody who wants to discuss posts has multiple places they can do so now (HN, Reddit, Facebook, etc.)
