Getting hard to keep track of opus vs sonnet vs....
Assume 6 will be announced on around an IPO?
The CTO at my company recommended Brave in 2019; I figured why not and have found a compelling reason to change.
The "elephant in the room" paragraph actually is making me consider Vivaldi. Its still Chromium, so it will support all my plugins, and I use NextDNS so most of ads will be blocked anyway. And its not like its amazing, but I've just never heard anyone rave of a browser that was particularly efficent either.
The analogy to Amazon works on all sorts of levels. From Amazon.com vs AWS to Amazon.com vs sellers
Never really wondered what financial relationship between research hospitals that participate in drug trials and pharma companies is, but now I'm wondering...
That it’s plausible that they’ll move from selling tokens as their primary source of revenue to building frontier models to do cutting edge research, and using the research as their primary source of revenue rather than release the models. Because it’ll be far less of a race to the bottom than commodified tokens used by the general public.
Will be interesting to see how this all unfolds. (No pun intended, but there is a funny one there…)
Even before all that, I switched to Quillbot because Grammarly would always mess up the formatting in my emails in gmail (but only when you viewed it from mobile). Quillbot isn't totally better than that, but at least its cheaper.
None are as good yet, but what everyone said is coming true - models are not moats. And these folks need an exit (even Msuk whose shares are still locked)
In 5 or 10 years everyone will once again be “why did we let this happen?”
Because 75-80% still allows them to overhaul society.
It’s part the model they use your emails to target you with ads
Just saw an ad for someone selling headless servers preloaded with OpenClaw that’ll sort your emails. A tool I really would like, particularly if it uses open models. Made me wonder if it’s time to investigate it and implementing what they’re selling.
Why can't everyone on it just move elesehwere?
Guess the answer is scale, same reason folks don't leave twitter/x.
Would be nice if it was easier to separate output that needs to live in context and stuff I just want to look at.
One thing I wasn’t aware of was the negative impact of switching models
Most of this seems pretty common knowledge
Most conditions are like that, particularly ones where the underlying cause is poorly understood. We see symptoms that lookalike and assume they all point to the same thing
Worked for Anthropic earlier this year
Is there some larger outage going on?
This was my main problem with it. Loved it otherwise, but the lack of an API or other automation so I could dump stuff in it and have a podcast ready to download and listen to on my subway ride made me turn away.
Basically my doctor's biggest concern right now is making sure I don't die in my sleep because of something the device records that I and my wife never even know happened. Its a point of debate right now how much to disrupt my life with side-effects to do that.
And like anything in the world things change.
So will there be change in the way we code? Certainly. Are some claims overstated? Certainly.
