ASneakyFox··on Obama Becomes First President to Write a Computer Program
From the article I don't think he actually did that. It said he wrote one line of javascript. I don't think he even set anything up he just sat down at a computer and copied a line from one of the exercises.
ASneakyFox··on How to become a programmer, or the art of Googling well
You still have to know enough to discern what phrase seems to be correct in order to know that's the phrase you want.
ASneakyFox··on Doctor in New York City Is Sick with Ebola
Of course it's being spread from a region with an ev outbreak. That's how it works. The news is that it has now officially spread to the US and there is potential of more cases popping up soon since he wasn't quarintined.
ASneakyFox··on Are we at Peak Google?
Its not hard to detect. Its just hard to reconcile. Hulu can block service since they already have your 10 dollars. And you're unlikely to go elsewhere. there's not many other services streaming new episodes of your favorite sitcom.

But free services and websites ( you know the stuff that's supposed to be ad supported) typically value user traffic over ad revenue. Especially if they're still in the growing phase, or if there's lots of easy alternatives to your service (the case of YouTube). They wouldn't want to risk you hopping over to another service.

ASneakyFox··on “Did you mean?” Experience in Ruby
Except for in for loops semicolons don't really do anything though. The job of the semicolon could easily be replaced by just a white space character.
ASneakyFox··on “Did you mean?” Experience in Ruby
The trick is to actually use it. If you auto complete then your coding should be typing 2-3 characters, hit enter, 2-3 characters, enter and so on. It should feel like you're entering hotkeys not typing.

Only real typing should be defining variables and methods.

Your coding speed can go way up depending on how good the autocomplete is.

ASneakyFox··on The mystery of the disappearing Silk Road murder charges
I personally think ulbricht is guilty..

I just wish the prosecutors and investigators didn't rely on so many questionable and in some cases possibly illegal tactics to bring him down. It really just makes him look more innocent.

As notorious as he was ( and as bad as he was at online security) the us government shouldn't be having so much trouble to prove their case (assuming their allegations are correct)

ASneakyFox··on The Introverted Face
I stereotypically assume people with red noises are clowns. Just based on past experience with other people I've met with red noses.

While it is a good rule of thumb. It is possible to wear a red nose but not be a clown. So to be sure id have to meet you first.

However you could understand why I would think you could be a clown if you're wearing a red nose right?

ASneakyFox··on Egg Freezing: A Sign Your Workplace Is a Dystopian HellHole
I think you're the only person who didn't incorrectly identify the egg freezing thing as sexist.
ASneakyFox··on Gamergate Shows Tech Needs Far Better Algorithms
The crazy death threat people are 4channers. They're not actual people concerned about video game journalism.

The real problem is people don't realize that Anyone can call themself a gamer gate activist, or a feminist, or anonymouse, or al quada.. They don't need to have any kind of affiliation or share any views. and this happens online more than in person due to only having a virtual presence.

ASneakyFox··on Internet trolls face up to two years in jail under new laws
I think they're talking only about e-death that's which have become more popular in the recent months. They're not talking about General trolling.
ASneakyFox··on Kickstarter Freezes Anonabox Privacy Router Project for Misleading Funders
I don't think he was lying. He just wasn't aware that he didn't know how to create prrivacy in a box. And his well crafted page made it sound like he figured it out when in fact he had not.
ASneakyFox··on Kickstarter Freezes Anonabox Privacy Router Project for Misleading Funders
The issue isn't that tor in a box isn't possible. Its that it wouldn't work to protect your privacy.
ASneakyFox··on The "charter city" movement in Honduras
I like how they changed the name from autonomous zone to zone of employment and economic development and then it got passed.

I sense it'll end up being a sweatshop farm and the "employees" will be paid so little that they won't be able to leave.

The us used to allow small towns like this. Employees would get paid in company minted currency. Then they'd only be able to shop at stores and restaurants owned by the company. This sort of thing is of course illegal now.

ASneakyFox··on Protest at SF City Hall After Soccer Conflict with Dropbox, Airbnb Employees
Must be a slow news day
ASneakyFox··on Netflix Stock Price Crashes in After-Hours Trading
I beleive public libraries that support kindle use a system like this with books.
ASneakyFox··on Show HN: Meadow – Medical cannabis delivered to your door
Not too different from medical pot dealers. All pot is for recreational use. The medical thing is just easing the subject into politics and law.
ASneakyFox··on French soldier’s room unchanged 96 years after his death in the first world war
Who forgets the hat to their uniform when they go off to war?
ASneakyFox··on Dorian Nakamoto Is Suing Newsweek
This is silly. If all the publicity really "hurt" him he wouldn't be spurring up all this publicity. He's just ganking fools for all they got.
ASneakyFox··on Dropbox.com hacked?
No dishonor in scamming fellow criminals I guess.
ASneakyFox··on With This Tiny Box, You Can Anonymize Everything You Do Online
I don't get why software couldn't do the same thing? (Besides that it can be used with a public computer)
ASneakyFox··on Judge Rejects Defense That FBI Illegally Hacked Silk Road, on a Technicality
Its still illegally obtained evidence even if the server belongs to him or not. Illegal evidence is still illegal evidence.
ASneakyFox··on Data science can't be point and click
Yeah it's much better to have "experts" create our misleading stats.
ASneakyFox··on Can Google's search engine find profits? (1999)
He was talking about their uninventive business plan. Not their consumer products. They're plan is the same as all other tech companies just they did/do it better.
ASneakyFox··on We Can Do Better
If you're on more than one medication I'm sure there's a better system for tracking your pills that works for you that you can result come up with.

Also. Out of principle medication shouldn't be dumbed down to colors. You ought to know what you're taking.

ASneakyFox··on As Many as 5K .Com’s Taken Away by Sealed Court Order by Verisign
Because it's done with the purpose of eventually giving some one a shake down ergo eventually might have a use for the domain.

Only reason they they let this happen is because it's good for business. I'm sure domain like 95 percent of domain registrations are done by these so called "domainers" or people protecting themselves from then.

ASneakyFox··on As Many as 5K .Com’s Taken Away by Sealed Court Order by Verisign
They're not gangsters they're squaters. They seem to have been out squated by another domain squater. Should have had his insight.
ASneakyFox··on Why you should use a BSD style license for your Open Source Project
Your mistaken. Gpl restrictions prevent me from using it in bsd projects. Bsd code can be used in gpl projects. But gpl restrictions prevent the other way around.
ASneakyFox··on Announcing Windows 10
Why can't they just release a patch for Windows 8? Does a new start menu really warrant all this?
