A010··on Why is Japan using cassette tapes and faxes?
This is an example of many other Asia countries as well, even if the host country is "hi-tech" but the excuse is always be "our company isn't hi-tech". If you're not working in trending industries, eg. e-commerce, mobile, finance, banking, etc., you'd expect to be stuck with 10yo technology.

I was using a HP Gen 3 server to query DNS to get here to input this comment.

> Symantec first said it improperly issued 23 test certificates for domains owned by Google, browser maker Opera, and three other unidentified organizations without the domain owners' knowledge. A few weeks later, after Google disputed the low number, Symantec revised that figure upward, saying it found an additional 164 certificates for 76 domains and 2,458 certificates for domains that had never been registered.

Wow, Symantec really really fucked up. I wonder why they still can be trusted now.

A010··on The Caffeinated Lives of Bees
It's right here:

> But the caffeinated nectar was not nutritionally better than the plain nectar. In effect, Dr. Couvillon said, caffeine “causes the bee to overestimate the quality of the resource.”

It's too late to include new draft HTTP/2 in 1.6, so it'll be in 1.7
A010··on What’s new in HAProxy 1.6
Varnish is a good HTTP caching server, but with the rise of HTTPS and soon HTTP/2 I'm not sure it'll change since last time I heard its developers don't intend to support TLS at all.

A010··on TCP/UDP/ICMP traffic over UDP tunneling
I don't know. But where I'm working, I have to register my company's VPN traffic (DST IP addr) to pass their (state owned company) filter. Edit: Not in China.
A010··on TCP/UDP/ICMP traffic over UDP tunneling
> It's useful to avoid Internet restrictions

It's used to bypass DPI where known VPN softwares are already filtered.

A010··on Windows 7 Update appears to be compromised?
They've gone through the process to put the "test" update to production servers, so I'm pretty sure this is intentioned. Though they might thought this is ok wo/ harms.
A010··on The brains of lonely people respond more negatively to social stimuli
> have barely learned to "fake it" well enough to pass as a normie

So do I. I don't mind to practice social skills but I can smell the b.s in many people and don't like the fake socialization, so I prefer to be alone (now with my dog) with a small number of real friends who have the similar concept.

A010··on How widely used are security-based HTTP response headers?
I gone through his previous blog post and found the changing Server: header field. Why have to waste time for rebuilding nginx from source for that? Why not just insert 'server_tokens off' in your nginx.conf?
