Weaker than who's?
"[novel reading is] one of the most pernicious habits to which a young lady can be devoted. When the habit is once thoroughly fixed, it becomes as inveterate as the use of liquor or opium.”
"I have seen two poor disconsolate parents drop into premature graves, miserable victims to their daughters' dishonour, and the peace of several relative families wounded, never to be healed again in this world. 'And was novel-reading the cause of this? inquires some gentle fair one... I answer yes!"
"Girls are not apt to understand the evils of novel-reading, and may think it is only because mothers have outlived their days of romance that they object to their daughters enjoying such sentimental reading; but the wise mother understands the effects of sensational reading upon the physical organization, and wishes to protect her daughter from the evils thus produced... Romance-reading by young girls will, by this excitement of the bodily organs, tend to create their premature development, and the child becomes physically a woman months, or even years, before she should."

If I have the beginnings of a song in my head, or I have been humming to myself, sometimes I just record the parts I have as vocals - humming or full-on beatboxing the bass/strings/lead/beats separately and as close as I can make them to my head-song (including filters with my mouth)- and then replace as I go, figuring out how to achieve the sounds that were in my head.
I don't think they really are. I think they are annoyed because nobody (who knows the difference) ever claimed that AlphaGo was strong/true/general AI) - and the article feels like it's swatting at strawmen.
Clarification here, CVS cut the retail price of the existing generic for Adrenaclick (known as Epinephrine).
This generic has been around for a while, but isn't an A/B rated generic so it's illegal for a pharmacy to dispense this if a prescription is written for EpiPen. We can dispense this if a prescription is written for Adrenaclick or Epinephrine.
Make sure your doctor writes a script for Adrenaclick or it is illegal for us to dispense this cheaper generic to you
Edit: The injection device of each product is what limits the A/B rating. Adrenaclick and EpiPen have different autoinjector systems. Yes the regulations are that strict. Here's[0] a video showing the difference between Adrenaclick, Epipen, and AuviQ (which has been recalled and discontinued).

I'm not engaging with that, as I said "the author contends".
However, the single enumeration stands as it is addressing a US audience. It isn't a special case on the list, it is a special case to that audience.
>"Software pirates, including 7Z7, often..."
If the article that included the above sentence was addressing an audience of people to whom I was particularly special (ie. the 7Z7 Fan Club), then this is completely appropriate, even if I am not a particularly rabid example amongst other software pirates.
>Except that the UK and the US is quite good about these things..
The point then, is that despite patting ourselves on the back, we are not yet as good as we could be, nor as good as we apparently think we are - despite there being worse examples in the world.
And that isn't the case in the original quote. The US isn't listed as specifically bad, it is included as a member of a list where the author contends mistreatment of some groups is common:
"In societies including the US where violence.."
Nothing special or notably different there. Additionally, usually the kind of articles you are alluding to are addressing a US, or at the very least a Western/Anglophone audience, so if the US or UK are pointedly included, the intent may be read as "'we' are not any better at this thing than we imagine 'other' countries are".
I have no truck at all with this being mystical or a conspiracy, but I'm enjoying the idea of it.

[0]https://www.punycoder.com/I don't understand this line of thinking. Ultimately, you did pay for that. If you didn't want the inclusives there is usually a budget airline that let's you select every line item as required, and gives nothing for "free".
"You may pay for the cost of free-wifi even if you never go online"
Everyone suffers because of it, whether they are actively utilising the roads or not - because the people who are using the roads are their customers/staff/suppliers/whatever. If half of my staff can't get to work on time, my business suffers. If my customers can't get to me, or don't feel the time investment is worth it (I've done 3km in 3 hours in Dhaka), my business suffers.

I'm running a Logic set up on my 2012 MBP, and I've never felt limited by its capabilities. I've been running Macs for music production for almost 20 years, and in my experience they have all at some point not had quite enough in the bag to let me do what I wanted of them. This is the first one (now fours years old) that has stayed ahead of my needs. I can run multiple copies of Massive, and rows of Waves plugins no problem.
I have hit limits with real-time 3D stuff, like gaming and Houdini, but music production is still well within its capabilities for me.
