Great, an MIT license to accelerate planned obsolescence and hardware junk. Truly a brilliant move

You should rename the project to OpenBox if you are not using a copyleft license. It is not libre.
533474··on Ask HN: Have you ever regretted open-sourcing something?
You should have licensed it under AGPL; Anthropic then would have reached you to negotiate a commercial license or contribute back to the project, since AGPL forces server-side code disclosures when deployed. Without that, they can legally use, modify, and profit from it without sharing improvements or compensating you

I agree with your comment about high-skilled individuals but your other comment about 'ultra' low skilled migrants is also 'a sad state of affair'. Refugees want to work, just as any other law abiding citizen. If you have ever met a refugee or volunteered at a shelter you would realise how difficult it is for them to obtain working rights (some are highly skilled too btw). It seems like your simpleton 'highly skilled' mind likes to roam hn to spread opinions that could have added substance, if you left out your preconceptions about 'ultra' low skilled people...

533474··on Microsoft continues right to repair about face, makes its hardware easier to fix
Indeed, like those old CRT service manuals....Any new legislation on the matter should promote sharing of schematics or at least a substantial list of troubleshooting tips...reverse engineering modern multi-layer boards is such a pain otherwise...
533474··on How ‘open’ should your open source be?
Free/Libre Software is not anti-corporate, it is pro-user's freedom to use, modify, sell and improve such software

He is entitled to his opinion and you may be breaking the rules of HN by starting a flame war. Our technology is built upon the foundations from our predecessors. I am younger too but I do not promote ageism that is so rampant in our industry
533474··on CS631 – Advanced Programming in the Unix Environment
Experienced emacs users will beg to differ. It is as capable and arguably, more easily extensible. I must admit, it is not for everyone. As your anecdotal 10 years experience, I have the opposite opinion but I think it is fair to say that both, Graphical IDEs and emacs/vim, have their merits. Having transitioned from Graphical IDEs -> vim + plugins -> emacs + evil + configs + org-mode. I will never go back to my old self, I've never been as productive and free.
533474··on Queen Elizabeth II has died
I just said "top in HN..". I have no intention of starting a flame-war but seeing the amount of valid comments deleted it seems to me that despite being indifferent about this news, the only rhetoric left in this thread is praise, why is praise not flamewar?. I am not inviting comment on this unpopular opinion but asking for a reflection from fellow 'hackers' of how one-sided intelligent conversations are becoming here. People who may have a different opinion about this news may be afraid to state their facts. And individuals like me, indifferent, cannot express our indifference about this event
533474··on Former PM Abe Shinzo dies after being shot
Discussing such petty issues with strangers online must be very amusing. Torus wants to increase his local native population, Chaos regards all humans as capable to improve economical challenges. Until we unite as species I am afraid we are gonna just end up destroying each other and going back and forward discussing reasons why our fellow humans can't decide to move to another piece of land for x/y reasons in this small planet of ours...

Why can't we just give people the freedom to do whatever they want, society will sort itself out and everything may balance out in the natural order of things. One point is that unites both, right and left, is to make life a living hell to those who dont give importance to these petty issues and just wanna work together with others to make this globe a better living place for all...
