50208··on War may be coming. Are we psychologically ready?
Answer: NO
50208··on Buried Apple feature turns an iPhone into the perfect kids' dumb phone
His kid doesn't need a phone and doesn't need to be tracked to walk to school. Get over it.
50208··on Have you restarted your computer this week?
I shutdown / reboot ... this is blogpost and HN worthy?
50208··on Ubiquiti: Enterprise NAS, Built on ZFS
Anyone know what types of full disk encryption this will support?
50208··on Organic foods are not healthier or pesticide free
If we accepted what this article states as true (big if, seems mostly hyperbolic) ... it also supposes that the only important thing about organic foods is what your body gets out of it. No consideration given to the land, the inputs, the workers, the surrounding environment. Not much logic to ImunoLogic.
50208··on The desperation of NYTimes
NYT is a cancer on American society. Worst tho, it's described as a "liberal" news source, but over the course of it's long history it's done just about all it can to stab "liberals" in the back. All thinking people should avoid NYT at all costs (which is free to do).
50208··on Bricks and Minifigs Stole a Man's $200k Lego Collection
Why didn't you say they were mormons from the beginning? That all makes sense now. Truth, lies, and morality doesn't mean the same in that case. Read Under The Banner of Heaven by Krakauer.
50208··on The Pentagon Threatened Pope Leo XIV's Ambassador with the Avignon Papacy
WW3 is shaping up to be a theocratic holy war struggle between Christianity, Judaism, Islam ... and all of us secular folks have to suffer for their ignorance and intolerance.
50208··on Oregon school cell phone ban: 'Engaged students, joyful teachers'
Good ... do it the old way ... I support the blanket ban, wish it would go further. It's a good start.
50208··on Oregon school cell phone ban: 'Engaged students, joyful teachers'
Now ... what do we do about the rest of society. This problem isn't just a school problem, it is whole of society, escpecially senior citizens. They are more prone to the problems of phones, social media, and continuous disinformation ... and they vote.
50208··on Grandparents are glued to their phones [video]
Seniors are the most vulnerable people on the internet, the most likely to be fooled by disinformation, the most likely to vote, and are one of the biggest threats to civil society. Boomers are destroying what previous generations have built.
50208··on Statement on the comments from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
This is what fighting early stage facism looks like.

The ad blocker is uBlock Origin ... the blog misstates it as uOrigin.

Wish there was a link to this ...
50208··on Canada's Carney called out for 'utilizing' British spelling
Sounds like something his opponents would use to try and gin up fake outrage. So dumb.
50208··on Mozilla appoints new CEO Anthony Enzor-Demeo
I hope like hell Mozilla leadership can just go back to focusing on what is actually important: making a free, fast, secure, private web browser.
50208··on ICE Will Use AI to Surveil Social Media
The United States is a nation of immigrants ... hopefully someday soon we'll remember that it is acutally our biggest strength, not a weakness.
50208··on ICE Will Use AI to Surveil Social Media
Lord no.
50208··on Hardening Firefox – a checklist for improved browser privacy
Isn't that just to provide the search engine default? Which is easily changed?
50208··on Hardening Firefox – a checklist for improved browser privacy
That would be a great move by Mozilla. Have a "secure" version: Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Firefox SECURE. Or maybe just provide a switch to turn on.
50208··on Hardening Firefox – a checklist for improved browser privacy
Thanks for this ... great start. Mozilla Firefox COULD be an even more powerful source for good. Stop focusing on BS VPN, AI, etc ... focus on great browser, security, privacy. There is a possible niche for a centrally managed, security focused browser for companies ... like the Island Browser ... as an option.
50208··on Tour de France confronts a new threat: Are cyclists using tiny motors?
It's not unique. Different sports police themselves more & less, punish more & less, coverup wrong doing more & less. As you said, you've just heard about it more.
50208··on Visa and Mastercard are getting overwhelmed by gamer fury over censorship
Imagine if they put this type of effort towards something that matters.
50208··on What happens when clergy take psilocybin
Why do people insist on complicating all this so much ... just take a hit of whatever and experience it for yourself.
50208··on The Polymarket users betting on when Jesus will return
Lord almighty (lol) ... these folks are so ... I don't even know the word.
50208··on Apple Resumes Advertising on X
I prefer "Lawless trillionaire oligarchy with neuro-net connected robot militia takes control of the Americas. Thanks Obama".
50208··on Mad at Meta? Don't Let Them Collect and Monetize Your Personal Data
An addict can't use occasionally or use less ... there is only 1 way to quit. You have to actually quit.
50208··on Instagram and Facebook Blocked and Hid Abortion Pill Providers' Posts
There is a clear trajectory for Tik-Tok to be force sold to a Musk type who can bend it to conservative American disinformation, supposedly better than CCP disinformation?
50208··on Instagram and Facebook Blocked and Hid Abortion Pill Providers' Posts
The fake conservative "shadow ban" is now coming into effect against their enemies. They do what they condemn in others.
50208··on Curse tablet found in Roman-era grave in France targets enemies by invoking Mars
I was thinking the same thing ... this dead person might be new nom for NASA director?
