Windows 11 is about 1/3 the width of the above picture
They haven't had a consistent OS UI since at least 2009. and they seem hell bent on removing all vertical scroll bars, or reducing the size until they are pointless. why do you need to hide the vertical scrollbars, and even on hover they are 4 pixels wide? I have dual 27 inch monitors, I HAVE THE SCREEN SPACE. stop fucking up my shit.
I didn't say it was an easy way, I said it was another way. and you dont need a golang environment to run, only to build.
No, that's not true:
No, that's not true:
notice that the SQLite package isn't used directly, its only imported to handle the database behind the scenes. all the actual code is written using only the standard library
It's not the end users job to answer that question.
If someone is using ad blocking, especially with custom rules, they are saying, loud and clear, they DON'T WANT most JavaScript running.
web developers should just respect that and move on, not try everything the browser allows in order to ram it down their throats. Theres really no excuse for it. with browsers essentially acting as operating systems these days, you're basically trying to justify malware.
people keep pushing, and pushing and pushing to add more and more crap to CSS. they want to make CSS Turing complete, if it isn't already. If you want to style with a programming language, JavaScript has been around for two decades people. with each addition to CSS, you just make it that much slower. people wont stop until CSS can do email:
Go couldn't have Option before, and it cant have option now. Option is not only generic, but its also an Enum, which Go still doesn't have:
https://doc.rust-lang.org/std/option/enum.Option.html
so its not really clear what you mean by this.
you know that Go has interfaces right? and I dont just mean the "any" interface. you can write your own interface similar to io.Reader and others, then add types that implement that interface, then no type matching is needed.
> non-generic legacy cruft
AKA normal, fine code. generic code is not some magic pixie dust that makes bad code into good code. plenty of awful bloated slow generic code around as well.
and never mind that Go has had generics for over a year now right? sometimes having a small, stripped down language is better than having a huge bloated monster. I would point to examples, but you know what they are.
package hello
type namer interface {
first() string
last() string
}
func name(n namer) string {
return n.first() + " " + n.last()
}
I think I saw on a blog post that Rust can only do this with some hacks, is that true?thats not why I am doing it.
you would think in this day you can get any code for anything you want, but many, many items have no implementation at all. or maybe some code is available, but its years old and abandoned. or maybe its just shitty code. or maybe its a huge bloated mess and you just want one simple thing. so, if you think you might have some skill, I would strongly suggest learning to program, we could really use the help.
Can't be too careful.
What's worse is people copycat this "baseline", and if you try to argue sanity, they just say "sure it's what Chrome/Firefox recommend" without knowing or caring that they are only supporting months old browsers now. It's madness.

and I am out. we have about 300 iPads at work, and I would be interested in swapping some to this, but it MUST have cellular data, no exception. otherwise its just a toy. Dumb move Google.
