did you even read the linked page? thats not all this can do by a long shot.
yeah, they DEFINITELY DO:
https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/blob/e7bed765/src/invidi...
not sure what backwards logic they are using to come to this conclusion, but its objectively wrong, and wont hold up in court. Granted, I am also guilty of this in my own project, but I dont pretend that I am not using the API, I just dont care because my project is tiny. They no longer have that luxury.

not really. you literally cannot create a file. if I want to create a text file, its not possible. and no, I dont mean a Google Doc or some crap.
1. go mod init something # create go.mod
2. go mod tidy # create go.sum
3. have fun
just because you might find one choice extremely distasteful, doesn't mean the option ceases to exist. so I will say again, pick your poison. you opt in, or fail to opt out of automatic updates, then you accept anything that might happen because of that.
doesn't seem like it:
> I can be a passive user of an excellent extension for years, and wake up one morning to discover that my browser has (silently!) upgraded the extension
you want to roll the dice with automatic updates, you have only yourself to blame when they break something you care about. people always scream BUT MUH SECURITY, and at the same time ignore every other awful change that is rammed through automatic updates. pick your poison.
1. Open application menu
2. Add-ons
3. Extensions
4. click gear
5. uncheck Update add-ons automatically
if the language default was anything other than this, THAT WOULD BE WRONG and unexpected. I would prefer the default to be the dumb, fast thing. then if I want the slow, fancy thing, I can import some first or third party package.
this is only true if the rule is "any point inside the area". if the rule is "any point on the border", then your comment fails here:

And without fail, people will howl ITS NOT OPEN SOURCE. They ignore that the code is on GitHub, and as long as you're not trying to make money with it, then do whatever you want with it. I don't like the idea of companies getting code for free and giving nothing back. I do like to support people who want my software for personal use.
Back then you wanted maximum compression like XZ, because the slowest part of the process was the download. Now especially with XZ awful decompress rate, the slowest part is extract. In many cases it's better to have 9% larger size, for 500% increase in extract, like you get with ZST.
YES. I have always wondered why YTS is popular, as the quality is always overstated and always garbage. sorry but 1 MBPS is not "HD", no matter what codec you are using.
I think the problem with this line of thinking is that some people insist on using functional tactics EVERYWHERE, even when it doesn't make sense. I get that its ugly to mix functional and imperative code, and maybe some languages dont even allow that. but they should. thats why I like Go, because sometimes a simple for/while loop IS the correct answer.
its not strictly required, as in most cases you could just save cookies or similar locally, but weaker login systems are preferred.
no, you cant. if the server requires any headers such as Authorization or Cookie, this method will fail.
