0n0n0m0uz··on StemDeck, a free, open-source and local AI stem separator
this is amazing with tons of granular functionality. Stem separation for me is one of the most amazing uses for AI so far. Something I wanted for years as a guitarist and transcriber. Only the highest hanging fruit remain, and that is separating a mixed down complex waveform that combines different instruments with overlapping frequency ranges like separating out rhythym guitar from the same piano chord and lead lines from individual piano keys. Either way its 95% there and an absolute game changer. Unfortunatley its just going to make new generations of musicians that much better faster :-(

0n0n0m0uz··on Woman Pulled over at Gunpoint Twice After Flock Camera Glitch
I am sure the government will not abuse this powerful technology. I actually believe SCOTUS will eventually try to reign in although not eliminate the scope of what this tech can do under the constitution

i would never use markdown without it
0n0n0m0uz··on What if the RAM/GPU shortage is deliberate?
Its certainly plausible but what % of consumers would actually buy RAM and do it themselves? The most profitable regular mainstream user would gladly pay $20 and use a simple web interface and not worry about anything else.
0n0n0m0uz··on Fretengine: Visualize chord and scale relationships on the guitar fretboard
Very well thought out and designed. One of the best I have seen for sure.

0n0n0m0uz··on New US visa rules will force foreign students to unlock social media profiles
The internal Israeli left / opposition themselves are much more free to speak and have a more robust debate than permitted in the USA.

0n0n0m0uz··on How to live on $432 a month in America
Only way you could live on $500 a month is in a paid off vehicle on public lands in western states where you only drove to buy food. I know because I do it.
0n0n0m0uz··on The Friendship Recession: The lost art of connecting
I am an introvert who prefers solitude to human interaction as my base mode. I find most interactions to be draining and unnecessary. They basically only increase or serve as a source of stress while offering nothing meaningful that somehow improves my mental state. I probably had this tendency but never had enough solitude to really recognize how much I preferred it. It is actually addicting and almost impossible to go back. I understand that in terms of social or financial success it’s not conducive or beneficial but in terms of spiritual growth it is. Even for me it’s certainly a useful skill to be able to connect with others and share experiences or material goods. I see many articles about a loneliness crisis so I guess for most people solitude is actually an unwanted state of affairs that causes them distress.

Democrats are to blame for this or at least share a huge part of the responsibility that led to this moment.

0n0n0m0uz··on Trump's plan for Gaza triggers international condemnation
Jared Kushner has been salivating over the real estate for at least a year. He was quoted on it in the international press when he was in the region setting up his saudi fund via the connections he made during the 1st Trump administration. They criticize Biden and Hunter when they are arguably involved in the same types of behavior.

0n0n0m0uz··on Archivists work to save disappearing data.gov datasets
One of the USA greatest strengths is the almost unprecedented degree of transparency of governments records going back decades. We can actually see the true facts including when our government has lied to us or covered things up. Many other nations do not have this luxury and it has provided the evidentiary basis for both legal cases and "progress" in general. Not surprising that authoritarians would target and destroy data as it makes their objective of a post-truth society that much easier

0n0n0m0uz··on Nvidia, ASML plunge as DeepSeek triggers tech stock selloff
I am glad I saw this coming and profited nicely.
0n0n0m0uz··on The impact of competition and DeepSeek on Nvidia
Please tell me if I am wrong. I know very little details and heard a few headlines and my hasty conclusion is that this development clearly shows the exponential nature of AI development in terms of how people are able to piggyback from the resources, time and money of the previous iteration. They used the output from chatgpt as the input to their model. Is this true, more or less accurate or off base?
0n0n0m0uz··on Metacognitive laziness: Effects of generative AI on learning motivation
That just demonstrates the difference between idiots and intelligent people. I use AI and chatgpt to learn about a zillion topics I am interested about more efficiently.
0n0n0m0uz··on CNN puts a paywall on its website as TV revenues decline
Hard to believe but I honestly don't know. There is nothing special or unique about CNNs news that will make me pay for it. I will just get it somewhere else.
0n0n0m0uz··on Why are there suddenly so many car washes?
Interesting, I have had this conversation many times about Montrose, Colorado. There are more car washes there in terms of its size than any place I have ever been and there are more under construction.

0n0n0m0uz··on Car insurance in America is too cheap
Lawyers and fraudelent claims are a big part of the problem. My wife rear-ended someone at a slow speed and the other party declined ambulance coverage. They were able to drive home no problem. A week later they hired a lawyer and my wife caused the woman to have a miscarriage. Of course they were unable to provide any medical documents confirming even the most basic details yet the insurance company still gave them a payout probably because it was cheaper than paying attorneys to right it. A very similar scenario exists with condo property insurance. The lawyers make millions and the consumers premiums keep going up.
0n0n0m0uz··on Eating horsemeat in France
I actually contracted tularemia while rafting and camping along the Colorado river in Utah. The campsites attracted alot of critters, especially desert jackrabbits. I got bit by a flea or horsefly that was infected from the rabbit and about 3 days later I had a 105 fever and literally couldn't get out of bed for 3 days. Sickest I have ever been in my entire life.
0n0n0m0uz··on Amazon instructs New York workers “don't sign” union cards
People nowadays have no memory of the decades of struggle, sacrifice to win the rights we currently have. Unions are the most effective tool the working class has to affect change where they spend a majority of their waking life. No wonder why its demonized at every possible instance.
0n0n0m0uz··on High-intensity exercise, some new news
My pace is about 4mph. I generally walk from 8:30 - 10:30 pm and have no problem falling asleep by 12. Sleep like a baby. At first I was beat after 2 miles, now I can do 6 and it’s like nothing, after about a month I really started to adapt to it.
