or i don't know if you are but this is how i think i feel a lot of the time haha
they probably do not immediately purge your personal video bits upon YT delete either (i mean, who knows, but they can probably afford the space).
in fact, one could argue that being able to retrieve a supposedly destroyed "personal item" for no cost as being a benefit to the consumer/user, but i understand if that is a bridge too far.
is clanger:clanker::darn:damn? a softer touch. i like it
ok ok, or "dang"
(or did i mandela myself)
right now, it feels useful to me to squeeze max astra usage out of a $20 plan, and remember to use the Gemini tokens i get by paying for 50GB of Gmail and Drive storage.
who knows, it might remain useful for different balances of tier/allowance.
brief pitch, using subs in place of "closed frontier model + harness combo," not submissives, but it's fun to read it that way:
i reckon a lot of us have a 3-figure sub for our "main model" and at least one ~$20 sub for another frontier model.
the $20 subs often get neglected, because when we throw stuff our main sub can handle at the mid bois, it often eats through an entire 5h quota, leaving us waiting for a refresh and (in my case at least) often just closing that harness and figuring out how to load balance the main sub.
this helps you not do that. long computer vision review task, 1000s of entries? have antigravity do one an hour for a long time. want astra to do something, basically anything with a bit of bulk to it, on a $20 plan? this will help you.
kinda funny this is what it has come to. honestly claude was dubious this has any actual value -- "a token is a token, whenever it happens" -- but if nothing else, it feels good. the illusion of consumer control. like clipping coupons or something
a) "dead"? i guess its horn got sawed off and now it is a plain old horse.
b) i had forgotten evernote had notifications (it probably still does! i presume i turned them off around 2009 and the setting has stuck). i presume it's literally only feature release announcements and MAU-farming zero-party ads (aka feature existence proclamations), what else COULD it be?
now, is suno a "better" way to make functional music, if it is determined to be a business necessity for thousands of businesses? idk.
but the muzak company still exists, under some other name, and i think SOMEBODY should disrupt the hell out of them, without paying session musicians $50 a day because they are exploitable.
this is where i start saying "please don't downvote me i am nice and have thought about this exact topic for the last 3 years straight, i even wrote a play about it"
i am a musician (songwriter/singer/multi-instrumentalist) with many, many years under my belt. i still like writing songs, i do it all the time. kind of like their educational benefits in other areas, the music models -- musiclm first, then stable, then suno for me -- have taught me, somehow, so much more about how the music i like to listen to works, and i am already seeing the benefits in my (extremely human, perhaps award-winningly so) music practice.
it is ALSO true that it can help you pinpoint all the kinds of music you like that don't exist, and that is very tempting -- with suno in particular, it can be intoxicatingly button-pushing, pun intended.
it's difficult but possible to resist that pull. there are people blissing out to inhuman music with their fave microgenres and that is bad, whether they are musicians or not. (i have a hunch that musicians are more susceptible to this particular breed of siren virus than non-, but no anecdata to back it up).
i think the main reason i risked my precious pointz by posting this is to say: it is extremely clear that lots of musicians are using this tool (and the other similar ones, lyria aside lol, rip musiclm) in both scrupulous and unscrupulous ways.
non-musicians too, but uh, maybe fewer scrupulous options open to them (doesn't take much to "be" a musician, just a willingess of soul!)
