0gs··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (August 2026)
still trying to figure out how to find users for my offline model agent harness with self-customizability and an offline wikipedia reader/tracker. tell your friends if you can think of a meaningful audience profile. http://enough.support has details/links
0gs··on Show HN: Vibez – Open-Source Rust Based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)
to me, that is an extremely idiosyncratic way to think about constructing songs or even beats or parts.
0gs··on Show HN: Likeface, make typefaces you like
[^1]: An honest question; I am pretty sure it is not unless you count the smidge of gen AI involved. It neither seems to be anywhere near displacing commercial foundry workers or independent fonticians nor replacing paid typefaces nor doing anything legally risky. Maybe trying to copy a foundry-owned font from a phone photo of a book cover, which it will not actively try to reject? I mean, I GUESS that's evil, on the Internet, in 2026. Still doesn't feel "evil" as a thing for a product to offer IMO (maybe the opposite)!

[^2]: 0i0.app started as a thing I built to learn about all the stuff I could make with just GCP + a frontend. I came back to it, made it a little prettier, cut some of the fluffier stuff (still plenty of fluff in there, don't worry). Full Picture Story is worth a look, and free (to users, it's like 10 API calls, it's fine). Writes you a story based on the hero's journey and a very unusual list of archetypes and themes I entered 6 months ago.

[^3]: The other modules make API calls too, so I made most of them cost 1 GET too. They are worth checking out; Redoer in particular can do a ton of cool stuff, and it feels like a good value since each run, even with multiple options selected, only costs 1 GET. Revewer exports a SWIF file you can use to make a real rug (allegedly; unsure how exactly I can debunk this claim.)

[^4]: This also means tokens are unlikely to ever get cheaper, and they never expire ...

[^5]: Feedback about pricing structure, however constructive it may be, also welcomed. I kind of feel like with the free credits, it's kind of a good deal for users and a bad deal for me, and I'm cool with that for now. Obviously, it would be amazing if this became a meme font smash hit, but that just seems like an impossible dream. Also, it is crazy how so many people post sites that get decried as slop and NONE of them say "sorry if this is slop" or ask "is this slop?" Maybe I've seen one do the former. I hope I'm not about to find out why!

0gs··on Show HN: Likeface, make typefaces you like
Is it evil in some way?[^1]

I'll be transparent: I mainly want to know if this, the whole site, counts as slop at this point.[^2] It should, I guess, but I don't think it does. Maybe Likeface pushes it back over the fence in one direction or the other?

I backed into this font creation tool -- though I've been obsessed with making fonts for 30 years -- the mechanics of which have become ... pretty elaborate. It started as a skill with token-hungry subagents arguing over individual glyphs they'd built as SVGs; now it's largely about a few efficient Gemini image API calls and a lot of chopping and vector conversion.

The outputs cost money to generate, so I set up a simple credits system: the Generational Electronic Token (GET).[^3]

You get 1 GET every day you sign in (bookmark it!) -- click the Queue button or try to do something that costs me money and you'll find the Sign In With Google prompt. No subscription model or anything.

I believe the quality will get even better over time[^4] because I have a pretty decent training loop set up; you can kind of make out a progression via the reverse chronological sort on the accompanying typeface marketplace, http://glyfs.store. You can sell the fonts you make there and get paid in tokens if people buy them. I need to figure out classifiers, especially since a lot of the test fonts (the only fonts listed there as of now) have misleading names.

In the end, the site and this module likely appear to be "co-coded," and they probably ought to.

But I dunno, it still feels pretty "me" (and I am chock full of humanity). It also doesn't feel like I am pretending to be some web wizard or business genius, I guess that helps (?).

I suppose I believe it's complicated, useful (arguably), and commercially merciful enough to not come across as slop.

If I am mistaken, let me hear it. I know you will.[^5]

0gs··on Silicon Valley sees AI as the solution – for everyone else
trying to reify the proposed efficiency gains they have been told are just out of reach
0gs··on The Knowledge Chipper: An Agentic Coding Story
well, one thing you can do is create an "agent guide" in your repo and make sure you keep it up to date. i've found this works pretty well. also, sometimes a fresh "pair of eyes" is good!
0gs··on Bending Spoons makes first post-IPO acquisition with $1.3B Airtable deal
i gotta say, there were some bumps post-acquistion, but evernote is still going strong. not too AI-sloppy, a few new features here and there, reliability still aok. they were worse pre-acquisition imx.
0gs··on Welcome to Agents Week
this week is about giving sharks what THEY need
0gs··on Pushes to arch AUR are suspendended right now.
pop each lace down one eyelet and you'll never have to untie them again if the heel is both sturdy and forgiving enough
0gs··on Show HN: I worked on a new browser for 2 years, today it passed Acid 3
hmm. i wonder if any of the stuff they have changed since then is stuff i could legitimate not do without in a browser
0gs··on The End of an Era
definitely dipped my chin a few times at HH's maddeningly human way of writing prose a couple times whilst reading this
0gs··on Ask HN: Is everybody's Claude weekly quota reset time the same?
idk about terrible idea but it would just put a super crazy load on their servers every week at the same time, one presumes? unless they are in it for the sport. i mean, it's not like i personally am in the habit of sweating my weekly quota reset, but it happens, and i am very focused on when i can get back to it. but maybe that's not most people. sounds like it's staggered.

i see content now :) may have been the hug of death, though the site itself loaded. and it was chrome android
0gs··on Hubble: Open-source notetaking app for you and your agents
it's interesting -- i think most (non-technical) people don't really have a muscle memory go-to markdown editor. i certainly didn't. i hated obsidian at first! funny how learning to like markdown makes obsidian like 1000x better haha
0gs··on Show HN: Cosmos47, a public chronological feed without algorithms
am i supposed to see posts right now without registering? it seems like i should, and i don't. but why would i need to register if there is no user customization or social graph?
0gs··on Htmx 4.0, the first JavaScript library to release exclusively on the Game Boy
htmx is so great. i feel like every week i discover some lovely way it helps things run more smoothly
0gs··on The new rules of context engineering for Claude 5 generation models
crazy to me that this starts with "I've written previously" yet continues the zero human attribution (that i could find?) trend in frontier model blog posts

0gs··on Nativ: Run frontier open models locally on your Mac
my thing is kind of an Ollama competitor (surrogate?) too. more for prose/text planning, not so much for coding, at least the harness, but i'm sure someone could set it up to do that: github.com/0gsd/enough
0gs··on Show HN: A zoomable timeline of 4M Wikipedia events
yeah, borked on Chrome Android too. too bad, i want to see it!

0gs··on Do Models Doubt?
i wonder how many psychology today articles have been shared to hacker news ... my reason for posting is:

maybe computation IS the same thing as doubt? or at the very least, doubt is an ingredient that goes into making a computation. it sure feels similar to me.

0gs··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
have fable do the planning and explicitly tell it to farm out actual tasks to opus 4.8 and sonnet 5 depending on complexity. it works pretty well but yes the API switchover guessing game is no fun
0gs··on Claude Code May–July 2026 weekly limits promotion
i agree this is annoying but i guess i procrastinated the exact right amount of time today. my day just got a lot less anxious
0gs··on Show HN: Reviving my 2001 college band with AI
it's pretty easy to make words that fast once you have the words written, fwiw. mostly breath control and there are things you think you could never do and you'll be doing it after a few times practicing. now writing the lyrics is a bit harder. twista is great
