If we look at his past performance, it's pretty obvious that Google CEO Sundar Pichai doesn't understand just about anything, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that he doesn't understand this particular thing.

It's unfortunate that Google is saddled with such an ineffectual CEO, whose product vision could probably be summed up as "oh well this could maybe be interesting I guess".
