That's absolutely throwing the baby out with the bath water. Ofcom's role is mandated entirely by government and they do plenty of good in terms of reigning in some of the more extreme parts of our news media.

If they're mandated with blocking encryption then that's an issue with the government and not Ofcom, surely?
