I respect his point of view and also the point of view that says a highly profitable company doesn’t need layoffs.

The middle ground that sundar took is weird

Possibly just one of layoff waves.

Which is the an absolute worst way to do it for employee morale. It might be the best way to extract maximum investor happiness though.

Public companies work for investors. Employees and customers are unimportant tools.

I think that. I am definitely feeling the squeeze myself. I don't like that this works but I cannot deny that it worked on me. Edit: I do not work at Google, can't say much about myself and my own situation more than what I've already shared here, but it seems that every company is going through this now.

Have a brief look on TikTok to see those showing their "work day" that's just goofing off.

Are you expecting people on tiktok to post videos of their actual workday of "Sat behind a screen for 8 hours, tapping on a keyboard"? I get its a bad look, but people purposefully curate their images and lives on social media platforms to look more fun/exciting/interesting than they actually are.

Agreed. Those people need to go. And, if I were an activist investor, I would want to ban adderall for employees. Mandatory testing.

Ah yes, one or two TikTok videos means that thousands of people at a company aren't working hard. Get real.
