This explains a lot. I have a 2021 Lexus, and there are a few questionable design choices. Forefront is the infotainment system interface - way too complicated, prone to error, way too distracting. (You navigate the system with a touchpad on the console, while glancing over at the screen.)

A better test would be to unfold a cat origami, and figure out a less complicated, durable design from it.
