This specific framework is CLI within Slack. It could be useful for quickly writing a command and having the output be publicly visible.

As an anecdotal use of Slack bots, our project reviews (I wasn't on a development team) were entirely on Slack. Building it around Slack helped our internal devs accomplish a working version without having to design their own UIs, auth, notifications, etc. just by leveraging what Slack gives bot creators out of the box.

I think you could always do it in the UI, but the few use cases I could see this as confined are where approval may be required, e.g. deploy to prod, etc.
