Our builds and deployments are all automated, I get an email (and a message in a Slack room for some reason) for code reviews.
What operational task would I want to do in a chat room with a bot instead of a dedicated web interface or CLI?
As an anecdotal use of Slack bots, our project reviews (I wasn't on a development team) were entirely on Slack. Building it around Slack helped our internal devs accomplish a working version without having to design their own UIs, auth, notifications, etc. just by leveraging what Slack gives bot creators out of the box.
I worked on a team which made use of a chatbot which more/less was a handier way of running Jenkins jobs for releasing. Release progress got updated as messages back to the chat. Was quite neat.
