True question: why is it on the second page of HN despite score? Is it because political? It's some kind of "flagged but not quite" system?

I'm also very curious as to the mechanism that is holding this post back.

They definitely have a system to mark down politics. It's top of the algolia 24hr ranking which I often use instead these days https://hn.algolia.com/?q=&query=&sort=byPopularity&prefix&p...
