The point is that political efforts that seem “obviously doomed to failure” sometimes turn out to win, because unexpected groundswells of support force people who would not have supported them in the conditions that seemed likely at the time the measure was introduced to reconsider, either on the merits or based on their own political self-interest.
The fight to save Net Neutrality will benefit from high-visibility attempts to bring the issue to light.
