If they're serious about putting your phone in a headset to use it as a VR display, that wouldn't be a bad idea.

A feature maybe 1% of people would do.

The Xperia Z5 Premium announced a few weeks back has a 3840x2160 display which gives it a whopping 806 PPI [0]!

But only during videos and photos. Everything else is rendered at 1080p.

That's really necessary with pentile displays, which amounts to about 2/3 of an RGB subpixel scheme. 345 equivalent PPI isn't that crazy.

> I wonder what's coming next. 240Hz refresh rates?

Don't give Samsung new ideas for spec boasting.

I'd be more than fine with investments into high refresh rate screens, a true 240Hz desktop monitor wouldn't be spec boasting it would be the dream.

We aren't discussing desktop monitors, but mobile screens and the sanity of putting "moar pixels and them refresh rates" in it.

We just need input methods that can keep pace with negligible delay. It would make dragging/writing so much nicer.

What makes 240 better than 120?
