zerealshadowban··on Earth at risk of becoming 'hothouse' if tipping point reached, report warns
What exactly is "the pre-industrial average"? does that correspond to the Little Ice Age? why is that a good reference point, or baseline for comparison?

zerealshadowban··on Seaweed could be scrubbing more carbon from the atmosphere than expected (2017)
Yes, one would most likely have followup questions once the baseline and its variables are made explicit.

What specific baseline do you pick, and why? are there multiple variables involved in that "baseline"? have these variables changed over the 10k years preceding the Industrial Revolution? together or separately? what about these same variables over the last 200k years?
zerealshadowban··on Quixotic effort to secede California from U.S. to get reboot
Calling this movement "Quixotic" appears to inject a slightly elitist, overly negative evaluation of the goal. California is a powerhouse on its own, from farming all the way to technology, and could very well thrive with fully open immigration and free trade agreements with the rest of America, plus Asia and Europe. Come to think of it, there might be other States that would be fine doing the same?
zerealshadowban··on Ancient public library discovered in Germany
Since "colonia" originally denoted any Roman outpost established in conquered territory, you can't invoke the word as a singularly significant element of the city name.

Mainz was also part of Germania and is much further East.

The current extent of modern Köln is much wider than that of the Roman city of 20,000 people, so you'd have to dig in very specific places to find Roman artifacts.

Many texts formerly considered lost since Antiquity, and some that were unknown, have been recovered in the last decades. It's a steady flow, not a sudden outburst.

My personal favorite would be to recover all of the texts by pre-Socratics.
