The Bookmarklet (pop-up) injects itself into the page and sometimes the website security policy doesn't allow that and so for this purpose extension is better since it gets only the page URL as required info. For most cases the Bookmarklet is OK, I use it more often because it sticks to the account which means the short URL will be assigned to you so you can track clicks when needed (the extension will do that too in the upcoming new versions).

It's a very cool project! Clean, modern and looks professional. However I think the domain name isn't so great, because IMHO employers may not like the word "tiny". More likely they wish to hire people with a complex resume (not a tiny one).

Other than that, this project should have huge potential!

Most likely uBlock has been installed by you so you gave a third party app to decide for you what the web-pages you visit should include or not. I would not use uBlock, that script doesn't include any tracking so uBlock blocked it wrongly.

This script will show a cookie notice much like a lot of big sites by Google Inc and many other companies. It doesn't manipulate cookies or deletes them, etc. The purpose is to implement a cookie notice and nothing else.

Suppose you are an owner of a trustful online community you built for years. Would you like people to use one time emails on registration so you will be never able to reach them out? Disposable domains (most) are public so how about password reset, updating profiles etc.. There should be a certain level of trust between website admins and users.

P.S. And yeah, I do recommend you to check the website for trustfulness. This list is intended for good guys who respect people rights of privacy.

@omgmajk, I agree with you. There are a lot of bad actors out there who will misuse your information, in this case your email to send you spam. I do not recommend to use your real email on suspicious websites. However many legit websites and online communities wants real people and respectfulness of their work. So whenever you want to join a trustful community using your real email is appreciated.

It's almost impossible to catch them all but we should try. Anyway I hope this list will help admins to fight fake registrations :)

No, those aren't real people. However some faces generated by an AI may look like people in real life. It's almost impossible to always generate totally unique faces.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with that API.

Mostly you may need it for:

1. Preventing SPAM (spammy comments, articles, votes etc.)

2. Preventing email collection (obfuscating could be an option: https://freetools.dev/email-encoder)

3. Clean up server logs (bots creates a lot of lines in server log files)

4. Clean up your Analytics (lot of bots may count as real visitors)

5. Security concerns (not only banks have important data)

6. Avoid automatic registrations (your users list counts too)

I think they want to get rid from older hardware thus making the OS more light without need to include a lot of old drivers stuff. So maybe it's a good sign. You can always use Ubuntu with your old hardware.

Say No to Daddy. Just never use NoDaddy. Especially when checking for domain availability. They will show your desired domain to other users later (as alternative domain they may like to purchase).
