given everything going on...

"Canada is about to spend $2 billion on a Sovereign AI Compute Strategy. The Globe and Mail, the stalwart mouthpiece of Corporate Canada, is running op-eds for the need of a nationalized public AI. The AI Minister seems to be taking the bait while simultaneously taking meetings with Sam Altman who himself has been busy of late. He’s lobbying Ottawa for a piece of that $2 billion while negotiating guardrails with the Canadian AI Minister on the product his company failed to govern when it mattered. All while lifting those same guardrails entirely for his new partner, the US Department of Defence.

But that’s apparently not relevant to the sovereignty conversation."

I remember when Eccleston's version came out and all the nerd blogs were crying cause this means these episodes were never gonna be released.

You are so right. They are never gonna be released.

Love the intent behind this. I am of the opinion that small is where it's all gonna end up. Politics are gonna mess with the Huge Frontier AIs so much that people will only use it for actual work (like Claude Code).

This kind of Local First tool will be what we all eventually build for.

it was originally called zombie web but that didn't catch so it turned into this.

It's not just TV's. My banking app always spams every time it loads up to sign up for one of its subscriptions.

The insanity needs to stop.

I am of the opinion that it will be like this until voice becomes the UI and the next interface for this type of thing will be guarded against fraud. Wag The Dog has become the standard and it's going to be this aspect of personal agency that will prevail. And solve the issue you are talking about.

they are saying what you are saying. At least Deirde Bosa did. I think there is a lot of folks internally who don't understand the gravity of it and keep questioning it.

You are right about the building of today's DC's. There is a small part of me that feels Oracle might be a bit toxic long term with all this debt him and his kid have taken on. And this could be the first reaction to it.

RIP Superman

the funny thing that no one seems to be talking about is that all the other LLM's have already agreed and Anthropic is the only holding out.

The funny thing is that is this keeps going like this, it could actually anoint Claude as the most used model globally because of the heightened anti-American sentiment currently in place.
