zdkl··on My small revenge on Apple
In fact I use it daily in my 3310, buttons and all, as a replacement for my <model forgotten> FFOs phone from a few years back. From that experience I can tell you it has nothing in common from the user point of view.
zdkl··on My small revenge on Apple
FfOS would have been a great alternative. I kinda still hope that a similar software setup (boot to browser, sandbox all the things to there) will one day be flashable to any generic handheld device, like older Android phones or the Pinephone.

What about the economics of this "proof of seeding" scheme?

Honestly, I could see this as a pitch for a decent tiktok like service. Your video lives as long as someone somewhere has watched it recently. I might actually enjoy something like that.

Well I'm sure React does too because Reagent uses it. And since it's a Clojurescript lib, it goes through Closure as part of compilation to JS. https://github.com/reagent-project/reagent/

That wipes out any trust in public rankings and some very big games are entirely built around those. Not going to happen while competition is a major income source.

Your intent is to drop US missiles or troops on Russia-Eastern Europe/China-SE Asia? That may have different outcomes than what you're imagining.

Probably to mitigate material stress due to temperature swings from alternating exposure to sunlight.
zdkl··on Clojure by Example (2015)
I second the Brave and True book to get your feet wet and add this website to get a better grasp on where/what/how to use the different elements of Clojure, with examples. Especially the "see also" section which will point you to functions you may not have heard of otherwise.

zdkl··on Legalese – Computational Law
As do all laws. You have a point about contracts though, assuming we admit contracts between non-moral parties to actually be a legally enforceable thing. If your would-be law/contract/??? can't get both sides in front of a court, one ought to disregard its terms.
zdkl··on Legalese – Computational Law
You're missing the point that flexibility of interpretation and "execution" is a very much desired feature.
zdkl··on Peak non-creepy dating pool
Not to misinterpret kragen's excellent points or assign interpretations, but I believe the only surprise you find in this thread is from a biology standpoint. The practice or expressed preference of not seeking to be an "optimal baby making machine" is somewhat not the point in a repr-evo biology discussion, but the phenomenon is curious and intriguing to anyone with a passing interest in the sciences of life. No judgement or opinion emitted, and especially not in matters of social sciences.
zdkl··on Peak non-creepy dating pool
Challenge considered. Are there unified (federal) marriage & birth certificate online registries for the US or is that a matter for archives?
zdkl··on Peak non-creepy dating pool
You're replying social sciences to a biology comment, where the mechanism described above can absolutely be shortened to "genes die out" in a given population pool.

That assumption of good faith works (mostly) for individuals. It does or should not extend to for profit corporations.
zdkl··on Who Is “Public” Data For?
This is a good idea, but unless *you* have some political capital and room in the budget to design AND perform AND maintain the process long term... You'll only add another competing "standard" to the mess. https://xkcd.com/927/

Irrelevant because I cannot (a) give the content of the vault from memory to save my life or (b) enter the vault accompanied (so there's an opportunity to alert bank personnel that I am under duress). Well "irrelevant" to the safety of the wallet at least, not of my squishy bits.

zdkl··on The Crow Whisperer: What happens when we talk to animals?
It is my understanding that passeriforme communication relies on more than structure. Recurring "forms" or patterns have been observed and recording+playback attempted. From what I recall a phenomenon that could be described as a "local accent" (modulation of forms or mutation of patterns specific to a region) seemed essential to generate interest from the studied population.

zdkl··on Scientists who say the lab-leak hypothesis for SARS-CoV-2 shouldn't be ruled out
Without going into subjective current event interpretation, the phenomenon is well illustrated in HBO's Chernobyl with the plant engineers and manager, or the show trial. Their discounting of material facts in favour of "the expected answer" by higher-ups is an endemic (and probably rational) strategy in response to ruthless (central plan+party politics)'d organisations.
zdkl··on Scientists who say the lab-leak hypothesis for SARS-CoV-2 shouldn't be ruled out
No, the point is there is almost no way the party would sanction an external investigation, regardless of the actual situation.

It's my (uneducated) understanding that legally, this makes you cross a boundary. You're no longer ~"circumventing security measures" on your own, you're inciting and enabling an end user to. One could easily argue it's on the darker side of the grey area.
