zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Threadli – Opensource distraction-free alternative to Slack/Email
Email is not threaded! I have to always group emails to catch up on the conversation. Email is recent first and in order to read the older messages you have to read bottom up to catchup.

Tools are like a flowing river, they have a natural flow. Going against that flow is like swimming against a tide. Slack’s natural flow is urgency which is bad for focused work. Hence the need for threadli, which is essentially opensource Basecamp (Messages) or Twist really.

zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Threadli – Opensource distraction-free alternative to Slack/Email
Sorry what? XD. What would you name it?
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Threadli – Opensource distraction-free alternative to Slack/Email
You are right! Added the home screen! I would probably add more about the features on the landing page. Thanks for checking it out and feedback!
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Threadli – Opensource distraction-free alternative to Slack/Email
Sure, that makes a lot of sense. Added a screenshot on how the home threads look for a user.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: ZeroAcquire – Sell, buy and discover pre-revenue side projects
Interesting project for makers who just make stuff but dont know the next steps like marketing or growth etc. You can basically offload your MVPs here and make worth of your time spent. Good one.
zaheerbaloch··on Going to Lambda School was disappointing to say the least
This is exactly what I am trying to solve at microdegree.dev

9-month exhaustive micro degree for $399 per month or 15% salary (~$8,000) if you opt to pay later. Thats 25% of what Lambda costs. For developing countries we give another 50% discout on the price due to purchase power.

zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Who wants to be hired (anonymously)
I am working on the skills tag such that anyone can filter based on that single tag. I was 50/50 on the $ amount but given that it works as a filter for recruiters I left it there. This also serves another purpose of sort of anonymously letting other people know what a rate for certain role is in the market which will help them better negotiate with potential employers.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Who wants to be hired (anonymously)
Hi HN,

This is an attempt to solve a problem where I felt that people on LinkedIn feel to openly announce being open to new offers. WWBH solves that problem for one to anonymously announce that they are open to new offers.

At the same time it gives recruiters some basic information to quickly search through candidates and their expectation of salary packages as well. I hope this would help recruiters quickly find candidates to fill open positions at their company.

Please have a look and let me know what do you think?

zaheerbaloch··on Average Lifespan of a Google Product
Astonishing... It takes 4 years for google to kill a product... But I wonder how many they havent kill just yet.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
Totally, this is the whole idea. Companies who prefer people with disabilities and not just post some random stuff in their job description to justify "equal oppurtunity employers".

You guys are really awesome as I have got awesome support and people have literally answered the questions that I didnt have answers for. Thank you so much :)

zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
Thank you so much for this awesome feedback. Currently I am targeting people who have physical disability who cant commute to work. I have plans to add more jobs and sort of network that help people with more sever disabilities get jobs. I really appreciate the above comment and for sure is very helpful in getting the website to more users and companies.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
I know there is only one job there right now, now there is one. The reason I posted on HN is because maybe there are people who are interested to hire through me and add job posts.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
The jobs/companies are genuinely interested in hiring people with disabilities. I am working on adding more copy to the website to make it more clearer.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
Thanks for this sincere feedback. This is work in progress and just wanted to get it out there as soon as possible. Will be adding currency symbol with salary, plus making sure the employers mention that whether its a complete remote job. Note that the idea is that the companies that are genuinely willing to hire people with disabilities can post on jobenabler and genuine candidates apply.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
When we were expecting my first child, the doc asked us to get tested for Down Syndrome. I knew what was down syndrome, and didnt take the test as I cant imagine an abortion just because of that reason. I was blessed with a normal daughter, but that Down Syndrome stuck with me. Then I did more research and found that people with disabilities are discriminated against even though they are capable of doing those jobs. That fear that what if I had a kid with disability and she/he couldnt find a job made me build jobenabler.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
This is very helpful. I am working on growing the site and getting it in front of as many technical people possible. This is just v1 to get feedback to make sure I am on the right track.

On the side note, posting is free so you can post today and see if you get any potential candidates.

zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
This is very helpful. I am using Java so search SO for any answers. Nothing is working till now.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
I have noticed the encoding issue. Working on it. The job posting is though not remote, but welcomes/prefers the people with disabilities.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
I am working on adding a review of the jobs posted before making them public. This is v1.0 and hope to turn into a better/smarter platform.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: Remote jobs for people with disabilities
I think he meant well... Let me ask the OP to change it...
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Hi there! Yes but when you signup for trial under FAQ.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
The summaries are currently available after starting the trial. I think it needs more work to show those people didn't contribute those book summaries but rather recommended those books.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Yes you can. Until and unless you are using your own words. Same goes for podcasts.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Yes. But I am not a designer at all. I have looked at different sites over time and tried to incorporate what I liked there and made sense for wits.io
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Thank you :) I always forget my passwords... I didnt want to use Facebook or Twitter login but still make it easy for the users to be able to login without remembering their passwords. Slack and some other sites use it which makes it super easy to login.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Audio is going big everyday, so definitely I will look if I can make something there.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Can you please try again. Should be fixed by now.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Done. Its now 85/15 :)
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Thanks so much. Audio summaries are such a great idea that I never thought of before. Once I have couple of writers/authors I will throw this idea on them.
zaheerbaloch··on Show HN: I made wits.io where writers can earn money with book summaries
Totally. Hence the summaries. If you like the summary of a book so much you can always go back and read the book. The summaries are not meant to stop you from reading books.
