yoyoyo1122··on Intel appoints Lip-Bu Tan as its CEO
Lip-Bu Tan was previously on the board but left after disagreements:

> Over time, Tan grew frustrated by the company’s large workforce, its approach to contract manufacturing and Intel’s risk-averse and bureaucratic culture, according to the sources, who were not authorized to speak publicly.

yoyoyo1122··on Marvel Rivals Director and Others Laid Off
Title is a little misleading. When people think game director, they think the head honcho behind the game like IceFrog for DotA, Jeff Kaplan for Overwatch. That is Guangyun Chen and he was not laid off.

These people were just part of some American team and director of some component of the game (i.e. levels).

God I wish this applied to buying cars as well

yoyoyo1122··on 'Students who use AI as a crutch don't learn anything'
It's such a "Back in my day..." mentality.

"Farmers today are much less skilled and knowledge than farmers 50 years ago!"

As the infamous saying goes, "If you aren't paying for the product, you are the product"
yoyoyo1122··on iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
Same, I have more failures with FaceID vs TouchID but it's like a 95% vs 99.9% success rate. I don't have sweaty palms though.
yoyoyo1122··on iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max
TouchID is still on iPad Air and Mini.

Would love to have both! FaceID never works for me when I'm laying on my side in bed.

yoyoyo1122··on Stop Microsoft users sending 'reactions' to email by adding a postfix header
You can disable reaction notifications in Teams too but it's not the default option.
yoyoyo1122··on Delete or hide life-wasting apps
Screen Time on iOS does enough for me.

I just wish there was still a way to allow apps to show notifications.

I would hope so when they're using espresso machines worth $10k+ more than mine

Isn't this like the saying "pain may not be your fault but it's your responsibility"?
yoyoyo1122··on Shrinkflation Tracker
Yeah, people call it skimpflation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shrinkflation#Skimpflation
yoyoyo1122··on Crowdfunding a defense for scientific research
Considering this is like the 4th part of an ongoing story, it'd be repetitive having to always explain the context. That's why the first paragraph links to the previous article where it links to the actual suit.
yoyoyo1122··on How South Korea’s birth rate dropped below Japan’s
It's in the middle of the article:

> Another economic factor in the falling birthrate is the rising price of real estate and a resulting increase in unmarried or late-marrying people. The tradition in Korea is for men to prepare a family home before marrying, and the rising cost of housing in recent years has thereby triggered a decline in marriage rates. The Bank of Korea recently enacted emergency interest rate hikes that brought down the price of condominiums, but the interest rate on mortgages has risen, keeping home ownership a distant dream for many.

yoyoyo1122··on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass subscriptions doubled since Messi's arrival in US
Like every other major broadcasted sport, it's not permissible, just extremely hard to enforce.

The sports leagues and networks sell specific packages for businesses.

yoyoyo1122··on ServiceNow Insecure Access Control to Full Admin Takeover
> Developers and Admins may not like it because its development with bumpers for kids. End users dislike it because of the developers and admins.

As a current ServiceNow developer for a F500 company, this is so true. Developing is frustrating since they strive for low/no code. They only started allowing ECMA6 like last year and it's still extremely limited.
