youngnh··on YCNewsers: Help me create better online bookmarking
I'll second the syncing across browsers. What I read and search for at work is drastically different from what I read and search for at home so I've ended up with two distinct sets of 'marks and my del.icio.us account is chaotic beyond hope of simplifying the problem.
youngnh··on The Most Important Assets you Lose when you're over 30
Additionally, the generational gap might simply mean that 30 year olds won't write the next 100%-high-school-adoption-rate app in the same way a 22 year-old probably won't write the next parenting/401k management/funeral home-related application. If you turn 30 don't give up on writing good software.

What might be a more important metric is the willingness of a certain demographic to adopt a well-written piece of software in large numbers. Will these high-schoolers grow up and be 30 year-olds flocking to new applications in droves or is there something about being young that makes you do exactly what your friends are doing?

whoa. he didn't get the job? I am so fucked.
youngnh··on Death of the URL
I think you're way off the mark. Advertising a keyword instead of a url is a much more effective way of directing users to a specific page on a website. AOL knew this, and when they were the dominant service provider tons of companies would direct you to their site through an AOL keyword. Today I still hear a lot of radio commercials encouraging listeners to get involved in contests by going to their websites and entering a keyword.
