yoshiks··on America's Nuclear Nightmare: The U.S. has 31 aging reactors just like Fukushima
You can't imagine until it happens. Think about possible worst result in that case, even just to get a few secs bonus from stunning when it really happens. In that sense, it is a good article to read.

yoshiks··on Rule of 72
I learnt this in programming pearl. There are a lot such tutorials for beginners so to pretend to be pragmatic experienced one, and even with, it is just a first step to be really. Now you know the rule of 72, but it is pure your skill when you can remeber this rule.
yoshiks··on Before and After pictures of Japan
I, I cannot write my accurate feeling to the article. It is amazing as web interface, but these images almost make me cry...
yoshiks··on Innovations in UI Design
It can be innovative, but it also can be nightmare, if your application must support all interfaces. I believe abstraction layer in OS or language ease a bit, but won't fix that.

Nevertheless, I'm positive to that trend, actually cannot wait to see what innovative idea (and games on these) will come in near two years (and if I can bring anything).

yoshiks··on Programmer problem solving sequence: should it be like this?
While you can ask a good question or find good keyword for google, I think it be ok to use google or asking at SO, anyway. You need to think what is the best way to express your issue, and if you succeed, you are already 90% solving that. And if you use google, you don't have to bother others so many times...
yoshiks··on Lunula, a Lisp to C# compiler
His last post claims now, as of 1st feb, it has REPL, and direct dll loading, a bit interesting to me...
yoshiks··on What if Lisp were invented by the Japanese?
Do we discuss about order? For me it is same if you prefer Method(self param) or X.method(param)...
yoshiks··on Maybe NYC could start with a simple URL
Redundancy is important in simplicity discussion, they want to say.
yoshiks··on Facebook unpopular in Japan
Most Japanese dislike to join fb simply just because it is still English sns, as you don't feel good if you are in mixi, fully in Japanese. Then I'm curious, why we Japanese love Twitter...
yoshiks··on Poll: Does the amount of time that you spend on HN hurt your productivity?

yoshiks··on Quicksort is the new Hello World
Do we all agree to teach from quicksort, to complete newbies of programming, while most experienced people had hard time to understand? Or simply just read this thread and imagine if you are just 12.
yoshiks··on Systems Programmers Relax - Most Programming Advice Isn't For You
It's important to think, but sonetimes it better to move, especially when I just think to think. "Don't think, but feel." -- BL "It is same as rest, for fool to think." -- japanese common quote
yoshiks··on Google claims they made Chrome "from scratch" (Japanese ad campaign)
"Google built chrome, a new web browser from scratch", or "It is not just a usual (IE), try this google's new chrome browser", which context do you prefer, esp when they put 'what is opensource?' column in detailed page?

yoshiks··on Photography is dead, long live photos
photography won't be dead. I heard same opinion when digital camera emerged. One day you see that beautiful liquid "photo"stream, but at same time you can still feel the beauty of gelatin silver print as great "photography".

yoshiks··on Japanese Porn Indicates 3D Television Success
imagine, you have 50 inch tv, watching hd porn. you can see any * bigger than your head. and with 3d, you can see gigantic * hopping, what a world...

They need to rely on porn, targetting younger single man, otherwise they may fail i suppose. Do you and all your family wanna wear Matrix-like glasses just to watch reality show, in living room?
